Our server was really wonderful and helped make it an enjoyable experience. I'm sad to hear that the restaurant will be renovated to be modern as I appreciate the retro decor, but the food is still great!
You can't go wrong at this restaurant. The cocktails were very good and not chintzy. The fried calamari was not greasy. The bone-in veal parmigiana was huge. We were a party of two and we both ordered it. We took home 1 1/2. We thought the waiter should have warned us to split one but in the end, this is our fault since I had ordered that previously. If you don't have great Italian restaurants near you, this is the place to go. But in the end, its a chain and it's best for groups, parties, etc.
We were at Maggiano's on Father's Day. Although we had to wait over 30 minutes past our reservation time, it was well worth it. We enjoyed everything we ordered: fried calamari, Caesar salad, stuffed shells, Rigatoni D, tiramisu & apple crostada. Our server Victoria was excellent. She is knowledgeable, friendly, patient. We always recommend Maggiano's because of the delicious food & comparatively reasonable prices.
We have frequented this restaurant and always enjoyed the dishes. However perhaps it was Father's Day and given the volume of food traffic, the food tasted less than usual. In fact the soup was so salty. What also made it subpar was the service from the waiter Adrian. He was abrasive and when we didn't want to pack left overs he made an unusual facial expressions with disgust. I was tempted to leave zero gratuity...
We were sat way in the back room all by ourselves even though we saw plenty of tables in the front. It was dark and lonely back there. It was a lunch so being near the daylight in front with a more lively environment would have been nice. We asked to move but they said no. The service was slow and our entrees took a very long time to come out. They did give us complimentary coffee to balance the slow entrees, but the coffee was super strong! The food was pretty good but didn't make up for crappy ambiance and service on a special occasion. Won't return.
My husband ordered the steak medium rare, and while it had good flavor, it was unfortunately cooked medium well. I ordered the chicken piccata, and the chicken was overcooked. Additionally, its circular shape was unusual—it didn't resemble the chicken I'm accustomed to. Overall, the dinner was disappointing, though we did enjoy the wine.
This place is getting to the point where it is no longer a good value for your dollar. My wife and I had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. For a chicken parmigiana dinner (served with Rigatoni?), a plate of 7 raviolis and two salads the bill was over $100.00. We didn't even have any drinks! We both had water. From now on I'll stick to my local mom and pop restaurant if I want Italian. Food is fresher, tastes better and cheaper. Three of us can have dinner for less than $75.00 and still bring leftovers home!
Christian who was our servicing our table is one of the best in business . Most delicious food with amazing service . Couldn't have asked for more
A very disappointing and overall bad experience due to the subpar quality of the food served during a dinner at 5:30 Caesar Salad seemed to have been made the day before and kept overnight in the fridge. Chicken Marsala looked and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave oven. Chicken Francese consisted of two dry cutlets sitting on a thin whitish sauce, my guest did not eat the second one. I had enjoyed eating at Maggiano's before and wasn't expecting a gourmet meal but this time the food was mediocre and not freshly made. I should have sent the food back.
Everything was great about lunch. Great menu options and the food tasted amazing and service is always top notch. I would have given it the full 5 stars however, the price seems somewhat expensive.

Impeccable service and food. This place is amazing and gotten so much better under the management and auspices of their GM Nate. An amazing young man doing an amazing job making Maggianos of Hackensack a desirable dining destination. Well done, my friend, and kudos to the entire staff. My wife, daughter, grand baby, mother in law had an amazing Mother's Day Eve dinner and experience. Thank you all so much. You have a customer for life. God bless you all. R. Mirabal
Chris our server was professional, knowledgeable about the menu, gave us great suggestions on the choices and we had a lovely evening. Loved the large space of the booths very comfortable.
