If you don’t want hair in your food do not order from here. Disgusting!!!
NOT EVEN ONE STARThe service is horrible, especially one of the waitresses has a lousy attitude, rude and reckless.I would never go back to that place,“ I also will inform my neighbors about that kind of service you guys give your customers “I don’t recommend this place at all…I can see why they have so many bad reviews…
I ordered catering for my daughters sweet 16, the food arrived on time, the presentation of the full trays were appetizing and the pernil and rice with gandules were so delicious, everyone thought my Puerto Rican mama made the food herself! I could my new catering spot. The food at the restaurant is just as good but the catering, top notch!
Dietary restrictions: Catered to my daughters food allergies, gluten, egg, nut and in this case chicken free ❤️
Had the baked chicken with rice and the mondongo with rice. Everything tasted pretty good but I do wish the portions were a little bigger that you get with the chicken.
If I could give them 0 stars like what they gave me I would. Never even got my food. Kept telling me they were outside delivering. I am outside infront of my door no one is there. I ask them what street you are on and they hang up. Almost like a prank call. What is that?
A gem ? ! Great service, outstanding food, amazing atmosphere and very clean. Our server was exceptional at her job. She had a great personality and was very efficient. Our portions were very generous & tasty as you can taste how fresh their food is made. 3rd time going to eat here with a choice of a different meal every time. Highly recommended !
We ordered the Mangu breakfast, it was one of the worst I've had. The mangu was a paste!!!! It had no flavor and it was over priced!!!! We had 3 orders and eCh one was worse then the other. I am Dominican and was raised in Washington Heights... this was not Dominican food!!!!!!
I ordered a 18$ salad and had to wait 30-45 minutes for it. When I received it , there were 3 pieces of lettuce, a lot of tomatoes and some chicken. I politely asked for a refund and got a nasty attitude from the woman at the cash register.
We UberEATS from here and thought the food was great, so we had to go in person. We were the only customer's in the place on this day. The server was very friendly. The food was again very tasty and good. Next time I'm in the area, I will be stopping by.
Tu cocina is the place for delicious Spanish food. I had my sons 1st birthday catered by Tu Cocina and everyone was raving about the food. From the pernil, chicharrón de pollo, pastelon de berenjena to the empanadas de yuca and quipes!! Everything was amazing!! The manager Wilma helped me with everything from start to finish, she was easy to work with and very professional. Will be coming back for more!! Thanks again!!

Actually a 4.5 only because I have not had the chance to sit down and eat. I haven't had Dominican food since the 90's/early 2000's where I used to work as a kid to young man in Washington Heights on St. Nicholas. The food at Tu Cocina brought me back to that time instantly. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I sat on my couch just eating plain white rice with the pigeon peas for a long time and enjoying every bite. I remember as a child, the manager ordering lunch for all the store employees. It would always be the same simple thing. Rice, beans, protein, plantain and salad. It was always so very good, even when eaten everyday. Tu Cocina brought that feeling back to me.The inside of the restaurant is super nice looking and very clean. It just has no Dominican theme to the place so I had passed by all the time peeking inside without knowing what type of place it is. Looking in from the outside, it reminded me more of an expensive salon/hair shop more than a restaurant. But I would enjoy eating here more than the other places around the area because of the clean look the place gives off.The food definitely tasted authentic if that is what you are looking for. This place showed me that a little can go a long way when made the right way.My only issue was that the rice is quite hard so when I got home, I added a bunch of water to the rice and cooked it in my microwave for 6 minutes and that did trick. This was a very honest review!Def. try this place out. I can't wait to try the mofongo!
Nice chill place for quality Spanish food. The place is actually nice on the inside and it deceives you from first glance on the street. Good Dominican food at reasonable prices. The service is good and if you want byob and they don’t bother. Perfect local spot.
I have not even tried the food yet, but it smells amazing it is heavy it appears to have great portions, it arrived in a timely manner AND feels hot and fresh! Best of all, it was a WONDERFUL price! Buy1 get 1 deal on Uber eats with amazing choices! I am so delighted by the service and quality of the food just from the delivery! Will be ordering again!
This place is TRASH. I don’t know what’s going with cook or the owner, but the quality of the food is HORRIBLE. When I first started ordering here, the food was really good, and with time it’s become worse and worse. Today I ordered chicharron de pollo and the the chicken HAD NO MEAT IT WAS BURNED TOO. AND ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENS. SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED. I TRIED CHEWING ON THE CHICKEN AND IT ACTUALLY HURT. WHY WOULD U SERVE SUCH LOW QUALITY FOOD?!? And charge SO MUCH MONEY FOR IT. EVEN THE SEASONING IS OFF. SMH. Trust me, I’m Dominican myself and know the deal. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ANYMORE.
Why is it that people like to only leave bad reviews when something turns out wrong once? I think its unfair. Anyways, I've enjoyed their food so far. Its affordable, the portions are good, and they're tasty. The one dominican spot in hackensack that I frequently order from.
