I'm from Phila and since moving to N. J. I couldn't find a good local soul food place until now. The food is good but a little wait for chicken and other platters, but worth the wait so call inadvance. The ribeye steak sandwich is The Best such a good flavor but the thing I would like is a more chewy bread, like a itilian roll which won't get soft or wet and can stand up to the steak. Thanks

OMG!! This place delivers what I've been missing my whole life in the area. The flavor profiles are spot on and done with the warmth and love you would associate with Home cooked Soul cuisine. Shrimp and grits you simply can't duplicate in any chain or franchise. Collards to die for. Best yellow rice I may have ever had.Legitimate boneless crispy chicken breast served with mac & cheese is outstanding.Please do yourself a favor and stop in here for anything and everything they offer. BTW, first time I ever wrote a review .

MJC- Ordered the fried pork chops with yams and collard greens . The chops were large, well seasoned and succulent. The greens and yams were delicious as expected. There hours are a little tricky, but I thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Pros - My shrimp/salmon salad was delicious. You are able to see your food being prepared. Good value for meal. Cons - Wait time was too long. Need additional help to maintain cleanliness in eating area.

The fish was GREAT. However the portions do not amount to the pricing. I got two platters 2 pieces of cornbread for $30. Mac and green beans were very salty.
