Ok, let me say when u dine here u are in the middle of an Oasis,. surrounded by the aroma of nature and great art This restaurant is located on/in the Ground for Sculptures. Which gives it the obvbiance. You literally can walk in from one of the numerous trails passing a lake with water front homes or a pond with huge Koai fish and more. However the inside wasn't as inviting especially the bathroom. Oh for those that say it represents and era in French history. Well I traveled to France and dined in many of places,, They can use a interior face lift and good cleaning to reflect that time.Upon coming in from the Oasis we wondered around trying to find the front were we could check on availability. Upon walking through several tables areas with folks, we finally found the front desk were we was met by a not so pleasant/rude male employee who informed us we could not be seated because dinner service was not started yet and we can order only at the bar.Good thing we sat at the bar at 1st until dinner service started. We enjoyed some good mojito 8 out 10 with blueberries, recommended by fellow patrons, I don't know if it was the mojito but the light bulb ? went off and we decided to see if we could make reservations while sitting at the bar, success.Alright ?Let's get into the reason you are probably reading this review.Upon sitting for dinnerBreads 10 of 10StartersGrilled Octopus $20, umm although I had my ink crema (great taste) on the side I didn't taste ANY of the other flavors Spicy Soppresssata or Salsa Verde and it could have cooked a little more. Appeared rushed I rate it 5 out of 10.Pear Gorgonzola Salad $18 -7 out of 10Entree'sRibeye Steak (special) $63.00, ?8 out of 10 Seared Scallops $35 7 out of 10, both dishes were good but we favored the med cooked and well season Ribeye Steak. The Staff and Female Manager was great overall,, However our waitress was very tentative, accommodating & awesome. that a was great especially our waitress..Overall The location is great and you do feel like you are in France when you come in from the Ground of Sculptures entrance. The drinks are great the food is not bad but for the $$$ you are better off eating at Bistrot La Minette. The other options are bar menu which is not bad or, eating at one of the Cafe on the Ground..Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendllyWheelchair accessibility: Yex

Really cool place, very fitting for being next to grounds for sculpture. Has a late Beatles vibe to it. Recommend it as an experience. Service was top notch. Our order was delayed by a few minutes because there was a hiccup in the kitchen the server explained but I didn’t mind because I really enjoyed the vibe there. Someone proposed to their now fiancé right outside on the bridge in the park. The whole restaurant applauded. It was really nice. A great place to have a lunch date.

Setting is stunning- cpupdnt believe I was still in Hamilton NJ. Service was efficient and friendly. Sangria was top notch. Bread and butter was great. Cheese on charcuterie board could have been sliced into pieces- was strange to have 3 one-inch cubes. Rotisserie chicken salad was underwhelming- chicken was dry (maybe from day before?)- I’ve had better from sweetgreen. Would be nice if restaurant had discounted sculpture garden tickets.

Food was alright. I felt that it was overhyped. Great views and ambiance with the outdoor dining, though.

Rat's is a lovely experience and I recommend it. Set in the amazing Grounds for Sculpture, it is fashioned on a setting in Wind in the Willows. Wine list is super. Cocktail list good, though I'd avoid the maple Manhattan. Food is tasty and very good, but not authentic to the traditional recipes, more a catering school spin. For example, coq au vin should have the chicken pieces cooked in the wine rather than separately cooked and coated with a gravy sauce. Tasty, but not "correct". Nevertheless. We will be back for more.

Very cool experience but food was just B+ or 3.5 ?. Escargot was good. Coq au Vin was just ok. That's a dish that deserves some love when making. I think maybe this restaurant needs to shift its menu just a bit.

We had a gorgeous birthday celebration at Rat’s restaurant and were well taken care of. The Barramundi sea bass dish was a big hit with everyone who ordered it. The timing was good as well. There were some gaps in service that are typical since Covid- a sort of lack of experience and fine dining service quality that makes one miss the good old days, but which is easily made up for with warmth and sincerity. Thanks for a lovely evening!

We had dinner at Rat's before Night Form's. The food was great! I highly recommend the Coq au Vin. My husband had the short ribs. They were delicious too. We shared a charcuterie board with friends. It was en I ugh for 4. Everyone was very happy.

After exploring the grounds, I went to dinner at Rat's. While the ambiance was cozy and the service was great... the food was pretty basic. For the price of the food I expected a bit more flavor in some of these classic dishes like the scallops and beef brisket.
