We decided to dine at Rats because we were touring Grounds for Sculpture in the afternoon. The restaurant setting is lovely. The interior needs some updating. The menu is fairly standard. The food was presented nicely and quite good.
The ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful. We sat inside but had a wonderful view of the beautiful outside where there was a beautiful pond and beautiful landscaping. The food was ok. We wish the lunch menu had more choices.
We ate at Rats on Labor Day for dinner. They were clearly short staffed but the food and service were over the top under the circumstances. The menu is too expensive, and it is not clear what comes with sides and what doesn't. Otherwise, the worst aspect of eating there is the background music, which is just awful.
