“We have been coming to Okie Pokii for years but this time I have to leave a review. Food are still really good. There's a promotion for free snow ice or waffle with $50+ purchase and dining in. We picked the mango snow ice. We thought it was just going to be a small sample sized snow cup, but it's not! It's a full massive size (look at the picture). Kids were so happy about it ? the flavor was also very good ?“

“I Love This Place, One of Our New Favorite Spots
This review will be based on our first time coming here, however the pictures reflect our most recent visit to this establishment (we forgot to take pictures the first time). Wow! This place is honestly a gem, everything from the warm waitstaff to the reasonably priced delicious entrees to the atmosphere, we cannot recommend it enough.
Having heard such great things about Venezuelen food, we were searching for an opportunity to expand our palettes. This was the only Venezuelen restaurant that we could find that wasn't too far away & we are glad it was. When we arrived, we noticed it was street parking only & thankfully there were a few spots right in front of the building. When we walked in, we had a very kind & friendly waitress that brought us to our seats. Directly in front of our table stood a rustic wooden display showcasing the country of Venezuela with a backdrop of their flag. This prominent & colorful decor piece tied together the strong authentic flavors with the vibrant glowing personalities of the staff.
Now for the food - Some of the best food I have ever ate in my life. Before I came here, I never even heard of an arepa or a cachapa.. what a mistake! Now I always look for these items on menus. We ordered the Guri Arepa, one of their signatures. Every mouthwatering delicious bite made me wish I ordered 10 more. This arepa had shredded beef, avocado, & queso. But accompanying all of their dishes, were 3 different sauces, all of which pairs greatly with all of their food, especially their arepa. My favorite is the orange colored sauce & my girlfriend loves the light green sauce. Those flavors combined together made this dish unforgettable. We also got the Cachapa with Roasted Pork. I have a sweet tooth & I rarely come across an entrée that provides an even blend of both sweet & savory flavors like this one does. The sweet corn pancake paired so well with the savory roasted pork, an absolute masterpiece. It was sensational, a well-priced filling entrée that absolutely overwhelmed us with flavors. We will always look for an excuse to come back here, it is one of favorite restaurants by far. Everytime we have come back we are consistently met with warm staff and delicious food reminding us of why we hold this place in such high regards!“

“Do you really live in a small east coast or Midwest town if you’re not eagerly awaiting the seasonal opening of the local ice cream shop? Closer to Edison than HP proper, this no-frills ice cream shop in a barn-shaped building serves up some excellent ice cream. They offer everything from soft serve to dole whip.
Some notes for when you go. There’s a limited amount of parking spaces, a small amount of picnic benches for seating, they only take cash, and there’s always a line. It goes pretty quickly though! I highly recommend walking there if you can!
Dietary restrictions: They have dairy free and sugar free options.“

“My favorite restaurant in Edison and a restaurant that must be reported almost every week.
Recommended dishes:
Free-range chicken (a classic of Hunan cuisine, the chicken is delicious when killed alive), sizzling squid (not fishy at all, with the aroma of barbecue), dry-pot beef brisket (not too bad, not chewy, just the right texture), smoked bamboo shoots and beef rice noodles (freshly fried toppings, full of pot flavor, personally ranked first in the Edison rice noodle category)“

“We had lunch at the new restaurant in Highland Park. We had the falafel plate which had great flavor and was very filling. My sister had a slice of pizza which she said was really good. The new place is a vast improvement over the old store in East Brunswick.“

“This restaurant has by far the best thai food I've ever had (and their portions are huge). My favorite item on the menu is the Guay Teow Rad Prig; it comes with tons of sauce and is extremely flavorful. Their fried ice cream is also a family favorite. I've also tried the mango sticky rice, which is very good. I highly suggest coming here!“

“First time back since 1973! Even better than I remember it. California cheese burger, fries and a soda. Served up in about 3 or 4 minutes, hot and fresh. I will not wait another 50 years to go back! LOL“

“We’ve become “regulars” at this wonderful restaurant, soon after they became kosher. We visit regularly, and get takeout pretty often. The food is great! It’s consistent and just SO tasty. And the staff… Absolutely terrific!!!“
