This place is great for what it is. Cheap drinks, divey, friendly staff and hilarious regulars. It's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of mostly younger crowds downtown. And you can bring your own food. I basically picnicked there by bringing sandwiches and fresh mozzarella with a friend. Ben, my favorite bartender, served us with his usual charm, and provided good banter when needed. It's a vibe. Go inside.
This is the best bar in Hoboken. Ownership cares for the patrons. The bartenders are excellent, the doors are open most of the day, and you are steps from the train station/waterfront/pizza parlor. If you are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds seeking the old school vibes of the pre 9/11 tri state area, you won't find it many places, but you will at Wilton House.
