If you are going to ask how do you want your hamburger cooked, then bring them out with something indicating how it’s cooked. Three burgers ordered, one rare as possible, two medium rare. They all came out looking like the burger in the corner of your grill that was forgot about all night. Well done would be a word, or annihilated would be more accurate. It seems the manager Edna is nothing more than a money hungry, nasty individual who is too overwhelmed to hold her position. After having a reservation for 7:30 for 2 people we arrived to find another party of 5 waiting for a reservation at 7:30 as well. The manager came up and told the hostess it was at least 30 mins to sit for our reserved tables as well as walking . We questioned why when we could see many empty tables. I absolutely loved my experience at The Beacon. Love the history and how they integrated part of the old with the new. The Shrimp and Grits were a modern day twist on an old recipe which worked out beautifully. The scallops were also recommended which didn’t disappoint. I highly recommend this place. You have the beautiful waterfront location the historic vibe, and excellent food!

A buffalo chicken wrap and a shrimp ceasar salad were so good. The restaurant is dog friendly.
