This place has old-style class and it’s reminiscent of “The Freeze” that I grew up with. The flavors are delicious and the service was good. There was no line when I got there. Parking was easy.
My only problem is with the texture of the chocolate malt milkshake I got. It happens over and over when a place makes a malt with soft-serve ice cream. The whole thing takes on a homogenized version of itself like it’s melted. Why not dip a few scoops of the good stuff and make a real malt (the reason is the cost of the ice cream). But I would pay more if it didn’t sit in my gut and bloat.
But, four stars. Thanks for a snack.

Okay Ice cream place with lots of choices, shakes, and outdoor seating. Parking is adequate. No bathroom that I know of. Run by kids. Lots of noise from passing traffic m.

If I wanted a chocolate milkshake made with chocolate syrup drizzled on top and vanilla soft serve, I would’ve went to the McDonald across the street. I ordered a “chocolate milkshake with hard chocolate ice cream”— After tasting this horrific milkshake, I headed back inside and the lady behind the counter yelled that it was made with chocolate ice cream, however that completely contradicts the large lump of unmixed vanilla ice cream still at the bottom of the cup and the swirls of chocolate syrup still on the side of the cup.

Great place for ice cream a little over priced but I get it inflation
Good evening, over the years Jefferson Dairy has been very underwhelming when it comes to the ice cream game, making me go to neighboring towns or Aj’s in Oak Ridge for ice cream. However, this past year they have done a great job of improving the ice cream and their overall standard making me a customer again but there seems to be something I cannot overlook! What is that you ask? The use of off brand Oreo’s in their cookie monster ice cream. Now I’m not sure if they are Great Value Oreo’s but it seems to be, and if they are using them in the cookies n cream that is very disappointing! The type of sandwich cookie being used is very crucial and Oreo’s are the gold standard in the that department, no question around that. So I please ask you, Jefferson Dairy, to please you use Oreo’s in your ice cream as sandwich cookies are very important to the ice cream game. It maybe double the price of Great Value’s sandwhich cookies but Oreo’s would make all the difference in the world. Thank you and good night!

Very nice staff and great ice cream. They made some changes to the parking area which definitely helped with flow of traffic. Love going here on the odd weekday night when I get a craving for ice cream. The ice cream cakes are great! They will Also add a message to them for free.

Definitely not what it used to be.We used to LOVE Jefferson Dairy and would look forward to them being open.Now we find ourselves traveling out of time more often to get ice cream unfortunately.The ice cream itself is ok, but the service isn’t always the best with the young kids working there. They aren’t always friendly, sometimes the order is wrong, or don’t listen/hear and make it “to go”, they seemed rushed to get you out of the store almost.The new inside takes away from the classic Jefferson Dairy feel most of us grew up with.It’s a bit on the expensive side as well.Just not the same experience we were used to with the previous owners :(
