My first time here and the food was great! The atmosphere inside is really nice and they play good music. The mushroom ravioli, charcuterie and lamb lollipop were all fantastic! We went at night on a cold day; but, we plan to go back in the summer or maybe lunch to catch views of the lake. I would definitely recommend!

Came here tonight with my wife to enjoy a quiet evening at a recommended restaurant.
Food; our choice of food was well worth it. For an appetizer we got the fried calamari which was pretty lightly breaded and not super heavy. For dinner I picked a chicken saltimbocca which I REALLY enjoyed and my wife got a Crazy Tuna roll which was very flavorful. I also got a mocktail called a cherry bomb that I enjoyed, albeit drank a bit fast.
Service: because we sat away outside the service was a little slow but it was a bit of a busy night and our waiter Ryan was honestly stellar. Super nice and was checking on us frequently enough. Also our hostess whose name I never received was so kind.
Aesthetic: beautiful bar along a small marina on Lake Hopatcong. I assume this place is packed during the summer but it made for a very nice night otherwise.

What a cool place! First timer
Just got off the last boat ride of the season. (Side review; Outstanding) Had a few drinks outside on the dock rocker tables. Took the party inside and had some food. Highly recommend!

Overall bad. Our server never checked on us. We waited 1 hour for aps and then 45 minutes for dinner. It took 30 minutes to get the check taken care of. The food was good! Except, the lobster ravioli came out cold. The only positive thing was the atmosphere. It was ok.

Went to Windlass for the first time. Beer was fresh and in a nice mug. Calamari was a B+ and crab cakes was an A. There was an issue with the sandwich my wife ordered, but when we asked for a new bun the waitress, Nicole could not have been nicer. They remade the entire sandwich and it was much better, and the manager checked with us twice - once to apologize and once to see if better the second time and my wife was very happy with it. Deserts were great. Will definitely be back, and not just to the great view of Lake Hopatkong!

My husband and I made reservations because we were in the area for a day trip and we are very pleased with our experience dining here. Everything including the service, food, and atmosphere was very satisfactory. Brendan M, our waitor, was especially phenomenal. He made sure that he kept us up date between meals and spaced our appetizers out between the main course perfectly, and overall he was a very pleasant and personable person to talk to. We look forward to our next visit to The Windlass. Thanks for making it a great experience, Brendan!

We’ve been going to The Windlass for many years. One of my favorites was the chicken burger. We ordered two to go yesterday and the patties are now half the size of what they use to be, the bun is still the same size, so there was way too much bun, which was stale, it was terrible, and the patty was dry. We could have gotten a much better meal at Chipotle or Qdoba for half the price.

Food was good, we had a windlass burger and a roasted beet pita (vegetarian) which was very good. Beautiful view, we ate in the boat house on the water. Would come again just for the scenery alone.

Went for our anniversary October 5th. Food and service was good. Thought they might have thrown in a dessert,no. Bill was just under 100.00. I usually leave a cash tip which I did. Checked my bank statement a few days later and see that 22.00 was added to the bill. Not cool. So the waiter got a nice 42.00 tip. Don't think I'll be returning.
The food was fantasy and great service.

Great restaurant. It has inside dining and also a terrace on the lake with great view of the lake. Great food and the service is 12/10. I was there for my mom’s birthday and everyone sang happy birthday to her and the atmosphere was amazing. Amazing place
