Best Haitian food in the area 10/10

A friend of ours saw this restaurant on IG and was so excited to try it out, only to be met with poor customer service and subpar food. I also hated the fact that we were being recorded without consent for their ig. Our server never checked on us and when he came over he had an attitude with one of our friends for some reason. The atmosphere is nice but I really expected more as someone who really loves Haitian cuisine.

Absolutely loved it. Food tasted amazing. You can mix and match. BYOB with a liquor store across the street. Can't beat that...

I literally just ordered from here; the diri djoun djoun with fried chicken and a side of macaroni au gratin…. They also gave a fresh side green salad. Out of the whole meal my favs were the fried chicken(well down like I like it) the diri djoun djoun was bomb!!! And the salad was soooo fresh and delicious. TO ME AND I SAY TO ME cause everyone’s taste buds are different I didn’t like the macaroni au gratin too much cause one it had ground beef or turkey in it hard to tell being that it was well marinated into the macaroni au gratin and also in my opinion it was a lil dry (once again this is my opinion cause some might find it to be just right, whereas I like that oily and fattening macaroni au gratin taste). But do not not order it guys cause your guys may choose to differ when it comes to the macaroni au gratin. But other than that I enjoyed the food. Been a while since I had haiatian food that actually taste like Haitian food. Oh ye the ambiance is to die for fancy and upscale AF!!!! Definitely got themselves a loyal customer! ♥️

Just Ok... I had the snapper, pretty.... and it was just OK. Had The Black Rice, no flavors and too dry, maybe it was old.

I thought this was a very cute welcoming spot. This place has got really good potential. Being that this is a haitian establishment, I would have liked to hear some haitian music. They had a live dj which was nice. They had segments where they played afrobeats, reggae and reggaeton. I understand that they want to appeal to a different and broader crowd, however I think it would make this spot even more authentic by showcasing the music. The wings were tasty along with their signature drinks. I wasn't a fan of my seafood pasta, since it was a bit overcooked.

The place is nice. Service takes forever. The fish was good Mac and cheese were dry, that goes for the lobster, and the Plantain fish cups appetizer. The fried plantain was ok. It can be better! My friend ordered white rice with pork. She says her food wasn’t too bad, but the black beans had an aftertaste. It wasn’t fresh. Next time may visit hopefully, more server and not dry taste.

The only reason I won’t rate 5 stars is because there are no accommodation for younger children. Everything else was excellent - Food was delicious, friendly staff. We had a great time.

I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. Chill vibe with good food. The service was also very good. Try the fritay platter… so good! The fish and goat was cooked to perfection!

Always love trying a cuisine I don’t get to have to often and the HAITIAN-CARIBBEAN inspired menu at Bettie’s has me hooked!!The vibe is perfect for date night and perfect for exploring this menu!Highly recommend trying out the Plantain cups filled with 3 delicious diverse meats including ground beef and a delicious pork and get the Pates filled with herring! A must try is their Lalo - a west African traditional dish served with crab and goat along with rice and black beans! They finished the meal with a Banana pudding ice cream homemade and super unique and tasty!

My boyfriend and I wanted to end out trip to jersey city with some early dinner and we landed at Bettie's. We had a hard time finding parking and was looking for at least 10 minutes so expect to have to make a couple rounds then when we got to the restaurant, im not sure if we had to make a reservation but we waiting an additional 5 minutes before being acknowledged, but once our waiter came from the back we realized that he's the only one and he is increadbly kind and Knowledgeable about the menu. The place is designed in a beautifully with a luxuri feel it would be a great place to have a dinner party if the parking wasn't such hell. This is a BYOB and they do not have diet soda incase you need that. We started with the pate which for $11 I wish they were bigger but they are delicious and the okra that was fresh and delicious. For our entree I had the frittay platter and he had the macaroni with lobster. Both were delicious, I ran into an issue with my red snapper but it was fixed immediately and was delicious. Also the dish was supposed to also have beef but it only had pork. Everything was delicious 8.5/10

I had reservation for 9:30pm I didn't get seated until 10:28pm. There were people coming in after me who didn't have a reservation who was seated before me. It seemed as if people who knew someone that worked there were seated first. We waited about 15 minutes for a server and another 10 minutes just for water. My boyfriend asked for sauce and an extra plate 3 times and never received it. The food was very mediocre and very overly priced. There was a band there that seemed to just be practicing. I drove all the way from New York and I most definitely won't be returning or telling my friends about it. I hope everything gets better !

Well for starters I got served a cold steak which was supposed to come with mash potatoes and it didn’t, I also ordered the seafood noodles which was soggy and overcooked. Only thing good was the ginger wings and that was barely warm as well. Lastly the white rice barely had any taste for this to be considered a Haitian restaurant this was an extreme let down. Not to mention you won’t find a single parking spot on that street. Maybe I caught them at a bad time but I definitely won’t be back.
