We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Drinks at Buddy's, and we're so glad we did! The staff went above & beyond. Definitely recommend.

Seeing Buddy’s from a tik tok made me skeptical but best Brunch I’ve had in a long time!
Chicken and Waffles best I’ve had to date! The seasonal pancakes were Cinnabon inspired and didn’t need a drop of syrup.
Definitely my go to Brunch spot going forward

We went there for lunch. The food is ok. I had the couscous salad which was bland with balls of couscous sticking together.
Sadly disappoining

Delicious comfort food with a fun twist!
Buddy's JC is a gem for anyone who loves classic American food with a unique spin. The cereal-stuffed pancakes were a standout — super creative and absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Great place for brunch or a casual dinner. Plus, having a full bar is a nice bonus. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Nice little bar for a date night. My wife got the charred cauliflower tacos which was very tasty even though it was too heavy on the pumpkin seeds. The cauliflower was also barely roasted let alone charred. I got the butternut squash ravioli which was also sprinkled heavily with pumpkin seeds and was quite tasty. However it was too sweet and tasted more like a dessert. Despite the food imperfections it's a charming little place and we'd love to be back if the preparation is improved.

Cool area and enjoyed the brunch- it seems I missed the chicken bc that's what everyone loves and I got a chorizo breakfast burrito which was pretty dang good. The potatoes were barely cooked though, I love me some breakfast potatoes but these were basically mashed potatoes with a hint of cooktop to it and they did nothing for me.
Nice location, good enough spot, I'll come back next time I'm in town for the chicken bc people were super into that!

Very nice little bar. Cold air con so good for a hot day. Food was very nice and massive portions! Staff were efficient and friendly. The food was OK. Portion sizes were great but the pancakes could have been fluffier, love the atmosphere but there are better diner options nearby.

Going to Shake Shack after this because we are still hungry and regret our initial assessment and decision of this place
The Avocado on the Avocado Toast was not at all fresh. It had turned brown from one end and didn’t taste fresh either.
My friends ordered sandwiches and the bread was too thick to be eaten

I’ve been here twice. Inside is very dark and dirty. Feels more like Dive bar rather than a brunch spot to me. Service was extremely slow. Like I had to go in twice to get help, food came out slowly (even when it wasn’t busy at all), pancakes were stale (even the syrup seems old like it was too sticky and gooey), hashbrowns literally looked like it was store bought frozen just reheated and stale. I should’ve trusted my gut instinct when I thought it was dirty bc right after I ate the chorizo guacamole benedict, I felt so nauseous and got sick. this place was very dirty inside like when someone doesn’t clean a wooden bar table and it feels sticky and moist) I usually don’t write bad reviews, but I was just so disappointed. Overall, this place needs a revamp.
They do serve big portions, but bigger doesn’t always mean better. I’d rather go to LIFE Pancake in Jersey City or Original pancake house in Edgewater (it is more spacious, brighter, CLEANER, better & faster service. This place was pretty disappointing, esp the food and service. Sorry but that was my experience after two visits.

Truly one of the best spots in JC. Worth the wait on weekends!

I've been here a few times already. The vibe of the place is great, and the service is good. However the food just never hits the mark. Fries are always burnt and soggy at the same time, probably being cooked at the wrong temperature. The burgers always fall apart half way through the meal, with the buns very over-sauced to the point of being sloppy, and the patties under salted.
It really has the potential to be an awesome neighborhood spot that I go to more often, just hope they can improve the food a bit!

Good happy hour otherwise the drinks are on the expensive side at $14 minimum for the cocktails .
Good happy hour deals. We ended up getting plenty of appetizers for the group. The calamari and mozzarella sticks were nice and crunchy without being too oily. The pork belly was soft and tender but on smothered with too much sweat sauce (bbq?). Cauliflower bites were just ok. Fries could have been more crunchy but decent.
No annoying music blasting so that was good. Glasses were not so clean - had lip stain on the glass of water. Otherwise everything else seemed ok.
Didn't get a pic of everything but I thought the blue drink was just eh for $14 especially. It's a matter of taste. Nice presentation though. My friend liked her match alcohol drink - she got two of it for $28, so you can see how everything starts to add up quickly

The soup was absolutely amazing so good, OMG! I also tried clams for the first time, and they were really good, especially with the delicious sauce. The chicken wasn’t the best, but overall, I had a great experience. Definitely coming back
