We went for dinner last week, had a wait for about 20 minutes as it was a busy evening. Our son had eaten there and had liked the food. Apparently the quality seems to have gone down already. I did not feel as awed by the menu after eating as he had. We ordered the Burrata and the Green bean salad--absolutely awesome items! For the main course, we ordered the Angry Chicken which was alright, and two orders of Gnocchetti Sardi - a total let down- it was very dry, barely had a sprinkle of the paremsan, and then ordered one of each of the three desserts. The Olive oil cake was very dense on the bottom, almost underbaked, the lemon poppy chiffon cake seemed like a sheet pan cake from the grocery store, very dry and stale. Apple Crumb Pie was alright. All in all, a let down from a sit down restaurant. I wouldn't go there again.Vegetarian options: Very limited vegetarian options

Was a cute charming restaurant. I liked that the dishes changed. The food was good, I loved the spaghetti with locally grown mushrooms. My guest were not such a fan of their dishes, the ravioli was good but felt a little bland according them. The braised lamb shank was tender, but the flavors didn’t wow them. The dessert ware delicious, I would come back for that.Again I’m glad their menu changes seasonally so you have a reason to come back.

What a hidden gem! As soon as you walk in, you feel at home. With their warm welcome & a terrific recommendation to pick up Cava at Riverview Wine, we were set. Every dish was creative & delicious. Kudos to the chef! Staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Small plates to share was the way to go. Save room for dessert! We’ll be back for the pork roast.

We have visited Corto at least 10 times. My wife and I hunt down the best food we can find in the NYC/NJ area where we live and anytime we travel.I am comfortable saying that this is my favorite restaurant. We made a point to eat at Corto a few days before a trip to Puglia Italy. As we ate I told my wife that I thought we would be chasing Corto level food as we ate our way across the region. I was right. We ate well on our trip but very few experiences were better than Corto.Don't get me wrong the food in Italy is amazing. But we have a world class outpost right here in beautiful Jersey City Heights NJ.100% worth making a reservationPro Tips:-Get the salad. It is always different and an amazing experience.-Get the meat and cheese plate. It's always well curated.

I have been dying to go to Corto for as long as I could remember. I finally got the opportunity to go for the first time for an early dinner last Saturday with one of my friends.Although the menu is on the smaller end, there were many options to choose from. Our waiter was exceptional, very knowledgeable and let us know that some menu items change seasonally. We sat in the heated patio which surprisingly got very loud when dinner ramped up. My friend and I tried two appetizers, two pastas and shared a main and dessert. The basil and mint on the spicy rigatoni was refreshing. Our favorite for the table was the mezzeluna pasta.I think we’ll be back in 2-3 months to see how the menu has changed and maybe order one of each pasta!

Can definitely see why this is one the best (if not the best) resto in the heights. Great mains - genuinely the malfaldine was delicious. The monk fish was the next runner up.The ricotta honey toast is apparently a mainstay on the menu but we found it to just be ok. The desserts as well were good (chocolate cake and apple crumb/pie), but the mains were the highlight. The vibe is very friendly with fantastic attentive service, and a very welcoming open kitchen set up (with chef's table seats, my fave!). 1 of the servers Philippe had incredible energy and gave us awesome context into the food, restaurant and future restaurants. The menu changes frequently, with ~3 mainstays, so we're excited to come back and try more of the homemade pasta for sure!

Charming Italian restaurant in The Heights area of Jersey City. Understated entrance opens to a tastefully decorated dining room with the kitchen and pasta bar located all the way in the back. Pasta here is handmade, and the angry chicken really delivered a tender, flavorful dish. Bring your own alcohol. Can't wait to dine here again!

Corto is consistently excellent. The pasta is homemade and high-quality. The starters are creative and always tasty. Try the bagna cauda. The menu shifts every couple weeks, so keep an eye out for new stuff, it’ll keep you coming back.

It has a small indoor space but the backyard It is only suitable for dining in a warm weather although it has some little heating lights above. They are very short of waiters so their attitude is less hospitalizing. They must be short of cooks too because there are huge gaps between serving the dishes. And the food is just ordinary, and the spaghetti is super salty! Btw they charge 3% for credit card processing fee.

I want to warn everyone who loves Italian cuisine not to visit this establishment or at least not to order pasta. It was terribly oversalted, and nothing but salt could be tasted in the dish. The chef said that's how it's supposed to be, so I left the dish untouched. If the chef is satisfied with the taste, then this place is not for me. The dessert was not bad - 3.5 out of 5.I would like to separately mention that the waiters did a great job and worked at a high level - the girl and the guy who served me were very friendly and polite.

Its tasty and fresh. Nothing that really blew me away but i can see why people like it. Top 3 favorite dishes were the Whipped Ricotta Honey toast, fugili pasta and the lemon ricotta cheese cake. Would recommend to give it a try if you never been to make your own decision.
