Efes is one of my favorite restaurants in JC! I order from here just about once a week. Quiet and spacious location for an intimate lunch for two or large group if you want to dine in. Takeout can be on the slower side but the food never disappoints. Chicken kebab and Mediterranean salad are my go-to's, and any of the spread appetizers are always delicious, especially the eggplant or babaganoush. Give Efes a try if you love Mediterranean and appreciate consistently delicious, fresh meals.

I have never had food like this. I didn’t know that lamb shawarma could taste like that. Every bite of every dish was better than the last. Everything was just simply amazing and flavorful and just perfect. You must eat here!!!
Allow me to begin by emphasizing that the food here is truly outstanding. It's exceptionally flavorful and a genuine pleasure. However, the primary reason for not awarding more stars is undeniably the service. The frequent turnover of inexperienced staff results in prolonged wait times, even for basic requests like water. One often has to wait extensively before receiving any acknowledgment. We have been here several times and it’s always the same issue.
I just received my order and Sütlaç I ordered is literally expired and looks disgusting! You should not be servicing this to your customers, especially with deliveries as we cannot see the product until we receive! I am very disappointed!I just called the restaurant and nobody picked up the phone!

I've been here multiple times and wanted to like this place so bad but the food is always mediocre and bland. We ordered the small appetizer plate, mixed eggplant sauce didn't taste good, the beans in piyaz were hard. It seemed like the Sheppard salad was made the day before and wasn't fresh at all so we couldn't eat it. Lentil soup was bland. Chicken gyro with yogurt didn't taste good and I couldn't eat it. The service was slow and the waitress was unsmiling and not very friendly. We ended up paying over $100 and left most of the food on the table. I will not go back.
My husband and I have gotten bored of ordering the same old takeout and were looking for a new place yesterday and I am thrilled that we tried Efes! We had the mucver which I am sure would be even more amazing if it didn't need to travel to us - but the texture was great and it was so delicious. We also both ordered gyro doner platters. The small size was perfect for dinner (order large if you want extra/leftovers) and we loved the white sauce and hot sauce that came with it. We will definitely be ordering again soon and would love to try everything in person! Thanks for a great Wednesday night dinner!

Delicious appetizers & pita bread. Falafel was light and tasty. Hummus was delicious. Everything had great flavors. The only critique was that many of the lamb kabob pieces were over cooked. Also wished that the kabobs and other meat dishes were served with a side sauce.

Had an amazing dinner at Efes Mediterranean Grill in Jersey City last night. I cannot say enough about how fantastic it was!! Definitely worth the trip! The food was exceptional! We were a group of 9 so sampled many things. I really liked the chicken kebab and sea bass. Others raved about the lamb. The octopus salad was also a huge hit. We got a sampler of appetizers that were all great. Even the vegetarian in our group was happy! She really liked the zucchini pancakes and salads. What I found amazing was everything was prepared just right. Even the Turkish delight with Turkish coffee at the end was perfect. We took home baclava and grape leaves and are enjoying them today. Thank you Efes for a wonderful night!
