I can see why the overall rating is three stars here due to service but trust me when I say.. the Biryani here is amazing!!!! Don't go to JC or Edison expecting 5 star service.. go expecting 4-5 star food. We also tried the Dosa here and it was also pretty perfect. Their orange / red chutney is amazing! Go here for the food!!!

We went there yesterday. Our friends from virginia were visiting and they wanted to try some good food.firstly we loved the ambience.though some telungu songs were not that soothing??We Had chicken biriyani/ goat biriyani , the quantity were really good, easily 3 people can share one bowl and chicken biriyani was so good, they gave it as medium spicy, as we requested. Mutton biriyani had toomuch masala though it was tasty too.but there was no egg /lemon/onion served with biriyani.(will ignore it as the food was good)Chicken 65 and chicken 555 very tasty and flavorful . Kids had dosa and idli, which were nice too. And there was a chicken curry which the staff suggested (telengana chicken curry or something) it was finger licking good. Butter naan and garlic naan were so perfect. The staffs were so warm friendly and hospitable. Totally we were so satisfied and our friends were so happy that we tried this restaurant. Hands down this is the best restaurant for the quality of food and service in indian street. Will definitely go there more and will suggest to friends.keep it up guys!

Godavari is one of the best restaurant in Jersey city heights. We went on Mother’s Day before and for to celebrate Mother’s Day with big group ( 18 people family) . And service was so good, food was even more delicious. We enjoyed our time at Godavari. Definitely recommend to everyone who loves South Indian and northern food. You should absolutely go to this place with group dinner or lunch , perfect for kids.

Starts with one liner "costly deal, lot of waiting, but tasty"Review from 5th visit: Food quality getting degraded, mutton curry and pulao tastes worst than before along with few other recipes. We ordered in one visit with veg biryani, chicken biryani and Dosa. Dosa, sambar, chutney were 8/10. Sambar was good. But biryani, no onion lemon or salad provided. The raita was smelling bad. And sambar came with biryani ??, instead of salan. Biryani was pretty normal. Overall Pathetic. This review is on the unlimited thali on weekends. Its a very small spaced with huge crowd comes in for dining. A lot of waiting, because of the name Godavari. Also, the service is so poor that the staff even dont check your order till 10mins, plus another 10 mins to get the thali which would have been readily served. I used to have unlimited thali, which they serve at the table. Love the food, pulao is so good along with mutton curry. At the end the sweet and especially Paan is like perfect ending. Must try, not suggested for vegetarian thali. Alacarte is also avg.Food - 3/5Service - 1/5Ambiance - 2/5Cost - 2/5

great food by great people in a great area; the smell of in this area is relaxing, especially on rainy days. This is my favorite take out spot, but if you're in a hurry to eat don't bother and come back when you have time as the food quality is the best; Indian food isn't processed food, it's delicious timely cooked food. So with that said this place is always packed and busy and that should say enough.

It was a great experience to have some delicious food here. The cuisine is ultimately yummy. Our family enjoyed the dishes and the service is pretty good. The ambience added much more taste to the flavors. The staff were patient and the dishes were served in no time. This place is highly recommended if you like to have authentic South indian food that makes you nostalgic.

I made the best decision to visit this place with my friends to have South Indian food. The taste exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly enough and served with extreme care unlike some places who ignore customers. Also tasted the buffet on weekends which is very much worth the price. Do visit guys and you’ll come back often!!.

This restaurant totally sucks…. Please make sure the food which you order and the food which they deliver to the table is correct..We ordered vegetarian soup and before delivering the food to our table we confirmed with them that is a vegetarian soup, After eating the soup I did realized its a chicken soup. The restaurant owner/ manager has too adamant attitude he is trying to cover it up in some way he is not even accepting the mistake has happened.. He ends up saying it’s totally confusion…I do get that things happen once in a time but there is a way of convincing/explaining the customers…I really hope the management will look into this issue..

I have picked Veg Biryani and half chicken kebab and kept in plate and heated in microwave. When I started to eat both were tasted really bad and spoiled. I had to throw the entire box of food because of foul smell

I ordered hyderabadi chicken biryani and it tasted horrible, rice is salty and mushy and chicken is undercooked I can see blood when I open the pieces. After eating some rice my stomach feels bloated and I had to throw away the food. It’s horrible experience I’m here to express my feelings

Perks of living in Jersey city is Indian food is just doors away. My late night craving for dosa got satisfied when I visited Godavari last night. I had ordered Mysore masala dosa and that was very nice and well prepared. The speciality of Mysore masala is the Mysore chutney that they spreads over the dosa and that was absolutely delicious. I would recommend those who are reading this review to try it out. Being a vada sambhar fan I ordered it to go and that was tasty as well. Interesting thing, the menu is kinda funny, they have sunny leone mixed noodles, from the name I am assuming it is hot and spicy lol. I am gonna try the next time I will be visiting. Thank you for the good food.

They have a different menu and the food is really good. Once I ordered to go and one dish was missing, they refunded it immediately. They have different style biryanis and many South Indian food which is not available else where.

Great deal on Sunday afternoon. Had veg and non-veg meal concept with unlimited food. We chose the non-veg deal and it was $18 per person. The overall menu had nearly 15-20 items including rice dishes and dessert. Very good good and the service was very warm. They kept asking if we need more food every few mins. I was fully stuffed when I left the place. If you’re looking to taste South Indian food a good spot to stop by!

Ordered Pickup.. App showed it was ready for pickup but had to wait 10 minutes indoor for it.. Chicken Biryani was good.. Kadai Paneer was okay.. Really unimpressed by indoor ambience.. Can't see myself dining there or even having a pickup the next time!!!
