I came across Karen bakery randomly while looking for bakeries in the JC area. The store is unassuming and the smell of fresh baked bread hits you as you enter. It was amazing to see the carts full of freshly baked carbs. There were no menus so, it was a little confusing trying to figure out what to get. Ended up getting a bag of buttermilk bread and a box of basbousa (sweet semolina cake). The buttermilk bread was gigantic! Probably measured at least 12"x12". It's a flatbread with many layers, seems like it would be good to dip with soup or use as a wrap. The basbousa was satisfyingly sweet, with a gritty texture because of the semolina but would pair very well with some tea for an afternoon snack. Can't wait to return to try out some other baked goods.

If you want fresh made bakery goods, this place is it. Although there isnt a formal shop to walk into, you can just ask for whatever they have on the shelves. There isnt a menu either, so you kind of have to ask around for things. Pricing is reasonable too.

This is an Egyptian bakery that makes fresh pastry and sell it to supermarkets. Parking lot in the back or street parking. I got fteer ( in the photo) which was delicious.
