We came to eat at this place around 7:45 pm on a Sunday. The attention was super accelerated because I didn’t notice they were closing at 9:00pm. However, we ordered the Kari Sayur Soup basically vegetables soup with coconut and spices with spice taste. It was ok but too salty, so much that the waitress asking if we want more rice. Made a detour for a Sunday night dinner at Mamak House in Jersey City. Location-wise, it feels a bit tucked away in the middle of nowhere, though parking is available. The restaurant was a bit slow on a Sunday evening, but they had plenty of friendly, eager-to-please wait staff who earned a solid five stars for effort and hospitality.

So you know a spot’s good if you see various types of brown people in the establishment of different races eating & very little conversation. Such was the case with Mamak house. Been a minute since I had Malaysian food too. Wifey & I walked in & take out turned to sit and eat. Worth it. We had the Spring Rolls, Chicken Roti, & Honey Squid for appetizers. All quite tasty, BUT the Honey Squid was the only thing that really didn’t win us over....
