This place should just be called Milk & Sugar, because the Love is missing every time I go.

Sure the ice cream is tasty, but the staff is curt and make the experience awkward.

They only let one group in at a time so it’s not a high pressure sales situation. Having a little bit of personality or kindness would add a lot to the experience and make me want to return, but honestly, I think I’ll just pick up Ice Cream from the grocery store instead.

The ice cream flavors are unique but surprisingly delicious. I've been coming here since they opened and they still have not disappointed me one bit.

Had the banana foster and cinnamon bun ice cream in the cookie sandwich. It was 10/10. The cookie was perfect and the ice cream was unique and delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Great place but opening at noon on Sundays really doesn’t make much sense. It’s a bit late for kids.

We ordered 3 double scoop ice creams with cones and were denied a cup of water on a hot summer day, the girl at the front looked bored and inconvenienced the entire time. Great ice cream but rude customer service.

We got an ice cream and a milkshake. Both very overpriced since the scoop was tiny and the milkshake was smaller than in most places. I mean how is one tiny child size scoop of ice cream with 3 sprinkles and a milk shake $22 dollars - without tip??? In addition to the fact that it was very thin, apparently making it “extra thick” ie regular thickness is an extra $2 dollars which is pretty funny. We ate at Rumba Cubana earlier and 2 appetisers, 2 mains and espresso costs double that. The cherry on top are the straws which are incredibly thin and not at all for drinking milkshakes. We won’t be going back.

We visited on Thursday, July 2, at around 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, our experience started off on a disappointing note. The woman at the front counter was very rude from the moment we walked in. She didn’t greet us or acknowledge us in a welcoming way, and she never smiled throughout the interaction. It was a very hot day, and we had specifically come hoping to get the Matcha Cookie ice cream. When we found out it wasn’t available, instead of offering an apology or suggesting another flavor, she simply shrugged her shoulders and dismissed us. The interaction felt unprofessional and made us feel like our business wasn’t appreciated.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. The female staff member working that day seemed very unfriendly. She barely acknowledged us, had an unpleasant attitude, and was repeatedly slamming doors and equipment very loudly throughout our visit, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. The ice cream was good, but the customer service really took away from the experience.

You have to try the ice cream sandwich!!!

Terrible customer service for an ice cream that cost 8.50 for one scoop. this isn’t the first time that I’ve had a bad experience here, but decided to go back anyway because I am a Jersey City native who loves supporting small local businesses, but after visiting today and being met with such cold presence upon entering, no one greeted me, and when I accidentally dropped my scoop of ice cream, the girl completely ignored what was happening and acted as if I wasn’t even there . In addition, she did not ask my small two year-old daughter if she wanted to sample ice creams or even as little as acknowledge her kids love ice cream shops and this ice cream shop just screams Don’t bring your kids and don’t waste your money or time.

Milk sugar love is the best ice cream spot in the area. I’ve been coming here for years, have lived in JC for 10+ years, and the quality of the ice cream is always there. I come here on a regular basis, and always try the new flavors. I patiently wait for March for mint choc chip, or peppermint gingerman ice cream sandwiches in the winter :) makes them extra special

Really awful customer service - the person at the front desk was extremely unhelpful and did not say a single word to me. My partner and I both greeted her, and she blatantly ignored both of us. It was very awkward. Also the sample size they gave was laughably small - I've had a bad experience here the handful of times I've been here, and after this experience I wont be going back, and wouldn't recommend you visit either. Probably better off to get Tarico down the street, much better service and atmosphere, and at least I've never been straight up ignored there.

Went there at 8.45 and they served the people in front of us at 8.52 and said we (3 people) won't be served. There were literally no people after us. Ridiculous.

I really wanted to like this place, but the overall experience was very frustrating and disappointing.

I came in with my two young daughters (ages 2 and 4). The smallest size they offer is a “small,” which makes it unnecessarily difficult when you’re ordering for little kids. I asked for an extra empty small cup so I could divide things between them, and there was a long, awkward moment where the staff member seemed unsure what to charge me. I was then charged $1.95 just for an extra cup.

It didn’t get much better from there. I asked for sprinkles for the girls’ ice cream and they were placed in the separate cup I paid $1.95 for and I was charged $1.95 for a tablespoon and a half of sprinkles. As a result, I had to hold the sprinkles in my hand, which included large, hard pieces from a “mermaid” mix, then divide the ice cream into two cups and add the sprinkles myself. That is messy, impractical, and not something a customer should have to do. I asked the cashier, who was as unhelpful as possible, if she had something I could put the sprinkles in and she told me I could “throw away whatever I did not want,” failing to understand the issue and as if I did not know this was an option. Moreover, the sprinkles had pieces that were unsafe for kids of that age so I had to handpick out the safe pieces. I don’t think they even offer any sprinkles other than ones with large hard pieces. I recall seeing different tubs with whimsical sprinkles that are again hard and not safe for little ones.

On top of that, there’s no bathroom, the space is extremely tight and hard to navigate, and there’s a strict “two samples per person” rule. I was ended up being so disgusted with the experience that I chose not to get any ice cream. The customer service was just awful and I won’t be returning.

Very rude staff. Literally just waiting for ice cream and I guest the young staff got overwhelmed and asked multiple people to leave numerous. We left twice after waiting for people to leave the establishment. They were so slow
