What a difference a year makes!I came to Muteki about two weeks after they first opened and was extremely disappointed. I was fully prepared to write them off, but this past winter was cold, so I gave them another shot. I have been back at least 5 times since then, because they are delicious! This is the first Jersey ramen venue since the demise of Union Republic that is worth continuous patronage! The broths are delicious and the noodle quality is consistent and finally firm! There is a good variety for the exotics (black garlic is popular), but I also want to highlight a great selection of appetizers - some of the best bao and takoyaki I've had in a long time!

Went to this ramen place since they had atleast 1 vegetarian ramen option on their menu. It is very close to exchange place PATH station, a 5 min walk from the Hudson river waterfront, so I’d say prime location. Had the vegetarian ramen with a marinated egg on top, the soy milk broth was very creamy and wholesome along with the ramen itself. Since I had added an extra egg on top, I expected a full egg to come with the ramen, but they only gave half an egg, wonder what happened to the other half. The ramen broth was on the milder side, so if you want to make it spicy, ask while ordering. Interiors are nicely done, with some traditional elements - couldn’t tell if they were fully Japanese. They have some bubble tea and drink options which I was tempted to try but the ramen portion is so big that I couldn’t think of acting on this. Overall, flavours, decor, and service were on point.Vegetarian options: One main course and starter option for vegetarian folks: vegetarian ramen and edamame. I personally am not a big fan of edamame, so that option doesn’t count for me.

Good food for a nice price: we were a group of 4, ordered 3 appetizers and 1 soup each - split equally and paid $30 each. It's a BYOB restaurant, we brought a bottle of wine they opened it and provided the glasses at no cost at all!Service-wise didn't disspont as we made a few questions to our servers and they helped us.Personally, food didn't wow me but it was very good.Overall a nice experience, and I could definitely come back to try more of their ramen

It’s very average ramen. The noodles weren’t the best, as the taste ended up clashing with the broth. The broth itself wasn’t rich, instead more of a water + oil texture. The pork and egg were cooked nicely. I give 4 stars because the waiting staff was nice. Not crowded at all around noon on a Friday. Prices were average ~$18 for ramen.

My go to place when I crave for ramen. My personal favorite is Spicy Tonkotsu ramen with portk broth and chicken chashu. I have also tried Volcano Miso ramen and its the second best in terms of spice and taste. Karaage buns are a must try here. The shumai dumplings is really good for dumpling lovers. Its a wholesome place for a lonely time or a small chat with lunch or dinner.

Great ramen, friendly service, and only a short walk from home, what's better than that? Muteki has become a regular favorite for us and we visit at least once a week. The ramen is Jersey City’s best and I usually order the tan tan ramen, with minced pork and pork broth, and it is very flavorful. My s.o. orders the tonkotsu ramen which always gets a thumbs up review. A friend who regularly joins us loves the creamy vegetarian ramen, which is thoughtfully prepared and tasty.Appetizers include pork bao buns, which are yummy, kim chi, sweet potato fries with a tasty spicy creamy dipping sauce, or occasional specials like fried oysters (yum). This is a BYOB spot, but you'll only have to walk 2 minutes to find the beer or wine of your choice. Atmosphere has fun, Tokyo-style decor and J-Pop for music, but service quality really makes the difference. One server always remembers my order and Blanca is incredibly sweet and welcoming. We would travel more distance for Muteki’s great food and service, but lucky for us it is just down the street. Highly recommend!
