We used to love this place when it first opened a few years ago. Ordered from there tonight for first time in a while. My wife’s basil fried rice with chicken had barely any chicken in it. My pad Thai was tasteless. I asked for extra vegetables and they charged me $5 extra for a few soggy pieces of flavorless broccoli. Not going back.
Decent Thai food, maybe the best JC has to offer- but it's still just ok. The green curry was a little watery. I do wish the spicy level of the pad Thai and curries were customizable.
Let me start by saying that I love thai food and I try to never leave negative reviews because I'm aware how they can affect a restaurant's ratings. After a truly horrendous experience at One Dee Siam I feel obligated so others do not make the same mistake and eat there.
We booked a reservation for 5 pretty early in the evening on a Friday and took advantage of the BYOB policy and bought a couple bottles of wine purchased nearby. Service was lack luster to begin with, requests for some ice or an ice bucket to keep our white wine cold was met with stares then eventually an ice bucket after some protest. This however was not the worst of it.
I wanted to try something new and ordered the BBQ Pork Chinese Broccoli. What was brought to me was a flavorless plate of about 2 ounces of grey pork and ton of Chinese broccoli. I separated the pork from the broccoli into a tiny little pile to confirm that there was close to no meat on the plate. I tried it and it had no flavor, no heat, no spice, no sauce, just bland. I called over one of the waiters and explained that the meal wasn't to my satisfaction, had very little flavor, and also very little meat. I asked if it was possible to send this dish back and order drunken noodles with chicken (my standby). This is the same guy who stared at me for asking for an ice bucket and his reaction was the same. He stared at me as if I was insane then said no, I cannot order a new dish, they will remake the same dish for me. I thought this to be extremely odd and rude but I didn't want to raise too much fuss in front of my guests so I agreed and said it was okay to add a bit of flavor or spice as well, since the dish was so bland. Previously working in the food service industry I was worried that this was the kiss of death - my food would come back freshly microwaved with a nice bit of spit mixed in. What came back to me less than 5 minutes later was the equivalent of a nice hardy FU from the waiter and the kitchen - the same exact dish absolutely drenched in chili paste, so much chili paste that it made the dish completely inedible. I looked at this dish in horror and felt the anger of being slapped across the face. I called over the same waiter and he stood there smugly and asked how my meal tasted. I calmly leaned over to him and explained that I know exactly what he did, that the dish was inedible as is, and asked him if he would eat it, and after much protest and back and forth he said no. I asked to speak to the owner and 5 minutes later the same waiter came back, removed my dish, and said he talked to the owner and it will be taken off the bill. That was it.
No apology, no offer of making another dish (that I would have gladly paid for and eaten), no customer service. Just a horrible place with horrible food and horrible service. I ended up leaving and getting pizza across the street while my friends finished their meals.
The rating of 3.8 is generous, this is easily one of the worst restaurants I have ever had the displeasure of going to.
Authentic Thai food downtown Jersey City. We have eaten here twice recently and found the food to be fresh and tasty. Also they’re BYOB. Friendly service, great ambiance and welcoming!
If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine in Jersey City, look no further. Flavorful, aromatic dishes that bloom in your mouth.
Panang curry with chicken is excellent. The papaya salad has just the right heat, right amount of peanuts and green beans, and very refreshing. The crispy chicken wings are fried perfectly and served with a beautiful sweet and tangy sauce.

Food is good. Overall ambience is okay.
good Thai choice in jersey city
The food was excellent, especially the drunken noodles with steak. The Pad Thai, Tom Yum, and Thai iced tea were delicious as well. We will definitely come back again.

The food is pretty average. The staff is rude including the server, and the lady with glasses ( not sure owner or the manager ). Even if the service is really poor they expect a good amount of tip and if not given or low tip is given then they will chase you and start arguing with you. Completely unprofessional and rude staff.

Something has changed in the service, qualify and portions. Drunken noodle was all veggies and barely any noodles. Waiter forgot half of my order in his attempt to upsell me lamb or fish. Quality control needed as the food has lost the flavor. I hope they get it back on track.
