My friends and I were denied entry to Six26 tonight by the bouncer, and the experience was deeply upsetting. Despite this being a space that should welcome everyone, we were subjected to inappropriate questioning and ultimately turned away. The bouncer’s treatment felt racially motivated, we’re Indian and watched others be waved through while we faced interrogation.

What’s especially disappointing is experiencing this kind of discrimination at a gay club, a place that should understand what it feels like to be excluded. The bouncer’s behavior felt both racist and possibly homophobic.
This is not what our community should stand for. Very disappointed.

I feel I should take a legal action against discrimination towards the whole organization and I definitely am going to

I had a really disappointing experience at this club, and I feel it’s important for others to know before planning a night out here. My group and I came with a larger group of friends (8 people total), excited for a fun night, but the security at the entrance completely ruined the mood before we even got inside.

One of the security staff members treated us very poorly. He questioned whether we had been there before and made the entry process unnecessarily difficult, even though we have visited this place previously. His attitude was unprofessional, dismissive, and made us feel unwelcome for no reason. It was especially frustrating because the rest of our group was supposed to join us, and this interaction affected the entire plan for the night.

Selective enforcement of policies such as coat check, rude staff, very difficult to get food, won’t be coming back.

Too many women, too many straight couples for a gay bar. Too dark.

I’ve come to six26 about 6 times since first checking the place out this summer. I love the queer-friendly crowd and having such a welcoming space to just have fun for a night out. The drinks are absolutely overpriced, making the space less accessible for queer folk that desire to experience a night out in a safe space. The music is mid at best, but I absolutely keep coming back, because I have yet to find another gay bar with a decent turn out that isn’t in nyc.

I noticed that the mixed drinks specifically at six26 would make me ill. The first time it happened, I assumed I probably just drank too much, even tho I wasn’t rly that drunk. The second and third times it happened, I assumed I had some type of allergy to the drinks I ordered. It wasn’t until I’d been to other bars and drank the same drinks and got absolutely hammered without the food-poisoning like reaction, and asked my doctor about it, that I determined that there’s likely some type of mold in six26’s ice or soda guns. I tested this theory by only getting canned drinks the last few times I’ve been to six26, and have been a-okay. Please be weary, especially if you might have mold sensitivities or don’t want your night ruined with your body being poisoned.

Terrible service and terrible DJ he was so mean but he was a Saturday night DJ. Extremely disrespectful towards women. Hopefully the Friday night DJ is better but will not return and will also inform my social circle to avoid this spot.

A large group of us were heading to this bar and everyone got in except for my partner and I. I needed a break from a crazy uber ride that made me very nauseous and after spending a few minutes outside to take some fresh air before heading inside, the bouncer didn’t let me or my partner in. They were extremely rude and were instigating us. Horrible place and honestly not worth visiting at all!

Me and my friend wanted to go dancing (couple of girls in our 30s) in JC, we ended up at this place and omg we had so much fun! We danced for hours and the drag show was so fun and the DJ on Friday night is fantastic!

Disappointing Experience – Not What It Used to Be

I used to really enjoy this place, but it's completely lost its charm. The tables were dirty, and the rooftop—once a great spot—is now ruined. They've built a strange barrier around it, which makes it feel closed off and uninviting. You can't see anyone around you anymore, and the whole setup just looks ugly and awkward.

The atmosphere is nowhere near what it was a year ago. The music is dull, the vibe is lifeless, and it honestly feels more like a prison than a rooftop lounge. It's definitely not cozy or worth the price of the drinks. If you're looking for a good time, skip this spot and head to NYC instead. I really hope they tear that rooftop barrier down and bring back the place people used to love.

Amazing place where everyone is welcome! Great service, workers are always friendly. Prices are very good! Love coming here for brunch.

This is NOT a gay bar. They advertise to the LGBTQIA+ community but they play LIL WAYNE and MORGAN WALLEN. Owned by straights too. Gross.
