The food here was a hit-or-miss. The only saving grace was the beef brisket. Unfortunately, the collard green and artichoke dip was horrendous, so don’t waste your time ordering that. The mac and cheese and corn ribs were both subpar.

Legit they remove everything I order from the menu. Don't think I will be going back... and we used to go at least 1 more like 2 times a month. Bummer. Bring back the Fajitas, the Poblano Cheese Streak, and the Brisket Fries or I wont be coming back. Fingers crossed. Gave you a good rating for now. (PS loaded fries at the bar... I cant go to the bar I have 2 year old)

One week after my last visit, I went to South House at 149 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ with 2 good friends because I really love this restaurant. Again, the brunch choices were varied and the 3 dishes we chose were heavenly. We were again fortunate to have exemplary server Giuseppe, as well as personable hostess Gianna and server Erica. South House is my go-to eatery in downtown Jersey City.
We had a wonderful time at South House last evening in celebration of our colleagues retirement. Mike and his staff, with an absolute shout out to Dilson!, were exceptional as they were present but not ever-present. Timely and helpful and efficient while the 15 of us enjoyed the prime space, wonderful food and each others company. I can't shout out for all but let me say there was plenty of love for the wedge salad, wings, the brisket, the fried chicken, wonderful sides and a raspberry empanda dessert that I could eat four of right now. Thanks for a great evening!

i remember coming here a few months ago and enjoying the experience. i specifically wanted some loaded fries but i was told they only serve it during certain times, which makes no sense to me. the mac and cheese was bland but the server did ask if i wanted hot sauce with it (which is weird…). the chicken in the salad was very rubbery. very chewy and gross.
i will say that the servers were really nice. i don’t think i’ll be coming back here which is a shame because i used to enjoy the place!

Beer lines are dirty. My Stella was so sour. Team member said that they can’t do anything about it…so they obviously don’t clean their lines. Didn’t offer me any solution. Two customers complained too about their beers. Get canned beer.
