The hotel itself is clean, the staff is cordial, the location is convenient, but for a 4-star hotel with Manhattan rates in Jersey City I found the service to be VERY lacking. Upon check in, I was simply handed the room key. No explanation of anything to the point where I had to say - "Is that it?". No explanation of parking, bellman, gym, pool, dining, etc by front desk staff. Very strange and off putting. Rooms were clean and decently decorated. Bed was comfortable. No bathrobes, no slippers. Water pressure was poor. Room service menu and hotel pamphlets were not out on display but hidden in desk drawers. A single free bottle of purified water with $5 one next to it (?). There a better 4-star hotel experiences to be had elsewhere.

We stayed here three nights using accumulated Marriot Bonvoy points in order to tour NYC before our scheduled cruise out of Cape Liberty. Quick and efficient check-in and we were even offered an upgade to a slightly larger room. The room was clean and comfortable. No complaints. As others hame mentioned, the air conditioner is loud when it kicks in. The property is one block away from the MTA Path Station which made our tourist commute very easy. A nearby shopping mall has an extensive food court and there are many other dining venues in and around the Newport Jersey City area. The hotel has two bars and two restaurans but we did not take advantage of either. The waterfront walkway, a block away, offers terrific views of the NYC skyline. All is all it was a good stay in an excellent location.

We are coming for years to this hotel on business trip. Never stayed there as it was always sold out of rooms. But being a vendor, we have experienced absolutely excellent customer service that is hard to find nowadays. Coming back year after year, they actually remember you by name!

Booked an overnight stay with my husband for the VC Polo Classic and was pleasantly surprised. The beds were comfy, rooms were well appointed and the service was excellent. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

It's a busy hotel so expect to be treated accordingly. The aircon in the rooms is exceptionally loud, to the point it wakes you up when it kicks in. The bath is incredibly weird, extremely low design (same as in the Westin in Seatlle so it must be their thing), I am an average height and weight and I was unable to completely immerse. On the plus side, toiletries are lovely and the beds are legendary marriott-comfortable. No bathrobes.

I'm not sure why so many bad reviews, I had a really nice stay at the Westin Jersey City, My check in was quick and my hotel room fantastic. The restuarant attached to the hotel had some nice food items to pick from and that was also enjoyable. The location is close to the PATH train with easy access to Manhatten if you need it. My room had the most wonderful view and one of the most enjoyable baths to relax in and enjoy the view. I would certainly stay again.

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding nearby. The room was large and the beds really comfortable. We had a great view of Manhattan from our window. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, including acting quickly when we reported that our bathroom mirror's light was emitting smoke. The breakfast was very nice and our family had a very pleasant pre-wedding reception, in the bar.

What a wonderful three night stay we had here. This was our hotel for friends and family for our son’s wedding. They were very attentive. The room was a good size, and the location is great. Cheers to Nate the bellman. He was very engaging and helpful even though he’s an Eagles fan.

As a tourism businessman, I have been in many hotels in the world, this is the rudest reception I ever met. No smile at all. I wonder how they train their staff. With this kind of attitude, I don't think the service worth 4 stars.

Beautiful hotel. Was there for a wedding on Black Friday 2022. Hotel was very accommodating. Rooms are very spacey with a mini fridge but no microwave. The only downside is that the hotel lights are very dimmed… a bit challenging when getting ready for a wedding and putting on make up. Other then that will definitely go back !

This is a poorly run and maintained property that I recommend business travelers avoid. They care nothing for your rewards status and offer no amenities. Room was poorly maintained (soap dispenser ripped off shower wall) and an alarming furniture stain was not cleaned even after I brought it to their attention and they promised the housekeeping manager would address. Poor sound insulation so you will wake to slamming doors and hallway conversations.

Stayed in Room 601. Dusty furniture and stuff on the floor told us that it hadn’t been vacuumed or dusted. The next morning woke up to find that there was no hot water in the shower. After a 1-1/2 hour trouble shooting visit by 2 staff, that issue was finally resolved, but our plan for the day was shot. Notified staff that morning about dust, vacuuming, and empty container of soap in the shower area. That evening we found that the shower containers were replaced, but other issues not addressed. On our way out to dinner, again told the desk staff about vacuuming and dusting. It was finally done when we came back that evening. Desk staff appeared indifferent throughout our visit. Don’t stay here.

Hotel was clean and room had a great view. Housekeeping staff did an amazing job with daily room cleanliness and making sure our amenities were fully stocked everyday. My husband and i will return back for another visit
