Good was EXCELLENT..My 1st time eating there i got the curry chicken rice peas and csbbage..didn't have to add any seasoning..plantains was good..I'll definitely be back

Nice neighborhood fast casual place. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful with explaining the dishes.

I frequent this restaurant regularly and I thoroughly enjoy the food. I am not sure what happened differently today but I found a piece of paper in my bowl of porridge and a hard piece of plastic in my stew chicken meal. It was not saran wrap that would normally cover the food as the employee suggested it might have been when i called. I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant... I'm just surprised that I found two things like this in 2 separate dishes, in one trip.

First time here and I love it! The hot and ready food style is amazing to me. I got the oxtail with cabbage, candied yams, rice and peas… ackee and saltfish with fried dumplings and plantains… red velvet cake…jerk garlic wings. Everything was so so good and reminded me of my family’s cooking. The lady at the front was so patient with me. The chef was so kind to even show me the oil they used to cook with. I did not feel rushed at all. Would definitely go back multiple times over!

Idk what all these other reviews are talking about but this food was hittin😋. Especially the oxtail.. I came from Brooklyn... I googled the closest oxtail spots next to me and this place popped up. I went to it because I saw a picture where they had a whole plate of rice and oxtail and it looks so good and baby when I got my meal they did not disappoint 💯💯 It taste so juicy and tender. The small meals look like large and a large meals look like extra large. Definitely going back 💪🏾🤎😊

I feel like nobody at this place knows how to read or follow instructions! I’ve order from here TWICE & BOTH times I received the complete WRONG ORDER! First Strike - I order curry CHICKEN & received curry GOAT. This time I order STEW CHICKEN & received OXTAIL , along with no Rasta past & triple steamed vegetables! I literally hate this place.

If you are vegetarian don’t bother, I went and they charged me 40 dollars for a meal which was pasta and cabbage and a container of rice and peas. The rice and peas didn’t even have salt just strong all spice taste and the Rasta pasta was old. Most Jamaican restaurants actor to vegetarian diet but not this one. I wish I could get my money back lol but at least I know they will never get it again. Oh and has a spinach patty that was hard like cement.

I have always wanted to try Jamaican food, and today, it was my 3rd time, and it was the best out of the 3. There are many foods that are considered good, but this one is one of them. I truly recommend it !

I'm looking at photos from the people who gave this restaurant 1 and 2 stars, and I'm thinking they went somewhere other than Violet's From Jamaica with Love. We stopped here after my son performed at NJCU and our small plates were so big, we took half of our meals home for a second meal the next day. The food was plentiful and well-seasoned. We had oxtails, curry goat, and whiting.

Parking: We were there on a Sunday, and found parking easily. We didn't have to pay on Sunday.

I come here for lunch and the staff there are exceptional. They are always friend and even during the lunch hour rush they get things done quickly. The food is great as well, this is my go to spot when I’m in Jersey City.

Placed an order via Uber eats. Restaurant contacts me saying they don't carry an item they have listed and they cannot modify nor cancel order I would need to and replace the order. I do as the restaurant says and Uber still charges me the full amount!!! Restaurant says oh well nothing we can do Uber is a horrible app you should use GrubHub! Then why do they use them if they're horrible? AND WHY DON'T THEY UPDATE THEIR UBER MENU SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN! So as I told them I cannot give you a good review, I never got to try the food and you offered me no resolution although you know who you're working with.
