“The sauce meat rice was great. Sauce was quite greasy which I wasn't surprised, nothing a little spooning out most of the grease wouldn't fix. Easy, no complaints. I was drooling, felt like I got transported back to haiti lol. Only issue I have is place needs upgrades, I would like to see some menus and prices beforehand. I would call to help save a few minutes if I knew what they regularly cook on Saturdays. Although there's a picture online, I can't actually see it cause lots looks blurry. But I was told in time they'll have that done. Place is small so don't expect much. As long as you go there for some good food, I recommend.“

“I'm often disappointed by the Caribbean food here in the States--it is almost never as flavorful as what you get in the islands...I recently stopped in to Kinanm on other business and smelled the wonderful aroma of the food. The owner kindly let me sample some food and....my quest to find good Caribbean food in NJ has ended! Flavorful, hearty, and fresh, generous portions, too...I will definitely be back. The owners are friendly and kind...if you are looking for some good Creole food, kinanm is the place to go!“

“The food was delicious! We had fried turkey and rice with pinto beans. The food had right amout salt and spicy. Food came out hot and fresh. The group wanted Haitian food once we landed from the airport. It was the 1st to come up during the search and close in distance. Plentiful amount to share and / or leaves for later. We ordered 10 plates for a group of 15ppl. Its more a takeout restaurant but has 4 or so tables for quick bite. Great food and service.“

“I'm not from NJ, but I accidentally drove 40 mns to this place because I was craving haitian food. All I can say is I was not disappointed!
It started with their customer service, because when I realized how far it was and wanted to cancel, they offered to drive it to me, which I declined but was nice of them nonetheless.
The food was fresh, super delicious and on the large order, they give you enough food to feed you twice. The macaroni salad was great, duri djondjon was awesome and the Tasso kabrit was excellent. If you're in Irvington or close by, this is one spot that I'd definitely recommend!“

“I had the most amazing time with family and friends going to Machou tropical restaurant in East Orange, NJ. The music is great. Atmosphere comforting and safe. The staffs are amazing, friendly and professional . Machou tropical restaurant is the go to for all catering needs and services, everyone that tasted their food always gives thumbs up and requests for their contact information. Food is always phenomenal. Catering is well presentable. Guests loved it. I applaud the hospitality and professionalism at Machou tropical restaurant and recommend everyone to visit them and try their food.“
“Selman restaurant nan Irvington ki gen bon manje ayisyen, manmi an pwop anpil, e lè li la li bay bon service. Selman pate yo ki kem pa renmen paske yo manke sòs men tout manje yo bon.The only best Haitian restaurant in Irvington, cause of the quality and cleanliness. The patties are not all that. When they owner is there service is spectacular.Keep in mind this was Sunday dinner“
“I think her food is consistently good. Do not let the overall appearance of the restaurant dispickles. or stop you from getting your take out. I just wish they would understand how important it is for a restaurant to look attractive to the potential customer. I especially love her fried turkey topped with her delicious picklys.“

“Edit: When I got home, I warmed the food up and ate it. After warming, the chicken WAS stewed, and was so flavorful.. Food was delicious!
I stopped here for my lunch while on route with my job. The customer service is good! The food was ok tho. I got a small stew chicken, and the chicken wasn’t really stewed. My was very cold, as if it has been in the fridge, but my rice and beans were fresh and hot. Wasn’t digging that. Also the chicken wasn’t as flavorful as I thought it was going to be. Wanted to give 5 stars because I support Black Business of all nations/ cultures, but serving me cold chicken is gets a bad review. Other than that, it was ok.“

“Their portion size is great. The food is good, and they have great customer service. The time that they tell you your food will be ready is true. Your food will actually ready when you arrive to pick it up. Best customer service I’ve gotten from a Haitian restaurant. Definitely recommend.“
