Roxanne's Brick Oven Pizza Reviews
Decent food, way overpriced. $30 for a family portion of kale salad?
I decided to visit my sister tonight and order food from Roxannes’s in Mahwah. I realize it’s Christmas Eve and they might be busy but that in no way should reflect overpriced and undercooked food and then followed up with hanging up on me over the phone multiple times. I paid $65 for a plain pizza, small penne vodka and mozzarella sticks. It seemed pricey but I went and picked the food up exactly 40 minutes after placing the order as instructed. My sister lives 4 minutes...read full review
I have ordered take out many times and there is ALWAYS an issue. Whether something is missing or food is cold. We like the food when we dine in though.
We decided to give it one more chance tonight. Simple order. Eggplant parmigiana and veal parmigiana . How do you mess that up, right? Roxanne's Brick Oven Pizza is a popular spot with excellent thin brick oven style pizza, earning a 9.4 rating from one guest. The restaurant offers large portions; with one meal, a guest can get three depending on how much they eat. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely and warm, and the management makes everyone feel like a VIP. The service is generally very attentive and excellent, though some reviews noted it could be better. The food is great and uses quality ingredients like fresh mozzarella instead of shredded, Kalamata olives instead of canned black, and fresh mushrooms. However, prices are a pinch pricey and seem exorbitant to some. One bill for three adults, a teen, and two kids was close to $250 before tip, with items like a child's baked ziti and meatballs costing over $40. A common complaint is a charge for soft drink refills, which are not free like most restaurants. Despite this, the place is extremely busy on a Tuesday evening, showing how good it is for the locals.
