We had the Honduran Carne Asada and it was excellent. The steak, refried beans, vegetables were nicely seasoned. The soft tortillas they served on the side were very warm and tasty. We also had a drink that was a mixture of cucumber water and lemonade which was delicious. What also made the food and drink so good were the fresh ingredients. Plus, the owners were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the LBI area.
Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was good, the ambiance pleasant and inviting. But the highlight was the food. We started with nacho chips with 2 intriguing alternatives to salsa. I had the carne asada Honduran style, it was served with rice beans, avocado slices, salsa, lime and queso fresco. Excellent. My wife had papusas and a baleada. Both were excellent. The portions were large and the prices ridiculously low. So low that I felt compelled to leave a 35% tip....
Firstly, let me say that as a fellow Mexican, I get very excited eating at mexican restaurants that taste just like home. Manahawkin is growing in diversity more & more each day, & this restaurant is KILLING IT in the kitchen!!!! Secondly, everything is freshly made, I had one of the best & freshest nopal I’ve ever tasted, just like I would in Mexico! & Thirdly, the chef/cook himself was going around asking everyone how the food was, I adored this.
