“One of the top dining experiences of my life! My boyfriend and I we the only ones there for a 7pm seating (Tuesday after Thanksgiving) so we got a complete one-on-one meal with chef Carmen and head chef Sean. It was so interesting learning about where each fish came from, each piece's preparation, and so much more! I'm glad I got such an intimate experience the first time, and look forward to going again with a group to get the full omakase, dinner-party-esque kind of atmosphere. “Osaka is a classic! I recommend really any of the hand rolls, but my favorites are the spider roll, sweet potato roll, any of the vegetarian rolls, the eel roll is good too! The edamame is a must on the side, and their lo mein + fried rice is really good too. I have only gotten take-out but have always been really satisfied with the freshness + flavor + everything I have eaten here!“

So much variety! Sushi, poke bowls, burgers, meat pizzas (pulled beef is the best!), salmon platters, vegetarian options, impossible burgers, etc, etc.
Great service too!
The interior can use an update but, otherwise, a great experience in every respect and for every age!
Last but not least, this restaurant is not overpriced like every other kosher option nearby.

“My husband and I LOVE River Rock's outdoor dining. We enjoy seeing the boats coming and going while we eat. The Manasquan River is a beautiful sight. Any food items that we have ordered are delicious. Lauren Guenther is one of our favorite servers. She's a sweetheart. She's very friendly, personable, and very focused on what she's doing. We know Lauren from when she served at Carrabba's. She was very special to us back then as she is now. Being local residents, we visit River Rock frequently during the summer and we will ALWAYS request either Lauren or Kelsey Conover because we simply adore them both. River Rock is our outdoor Happy Place during the summer. 💗💗“

“The service and atmosphere was great. The seats are comfortable, decorations are good and the lighting is just right. Staff was very helpful. The drinks are mainly just different teas but the two milk teas we tried were good. The food was very variable in taste though. The appetizer (beef with scallions) was delicious and had the best sauce. The Three Musketeers and Beauties was good other than the scallops, however the rest of the tables food was mediocre to plain bad. The mango chicken was the most tasteless thing I’ve ever tasted in my life. Overall other than the chicken, the restaurant was fine.“

“Hibachi is a dining experience unto itself and Sumo is a very good hibachi place. The staff was attentive and seated us right away. They took our sake (it’s BYOB) and decanted it into a nice serving piece. It was a Monday and a slow night. Our chef was terrific, lots of fun and a great cook. We had the filet and lobster and he cooked everything perfectly to order. Both were tender and delicious. Prices are fair given the quality.“
