La Famiglia Ristorante, Pizzeria & Catering Maplewood

This is an amazing place so happy that we came here. On our way past through the food is delicious and the service is wonderful. Definitely recommend and if I return to Jersey, I will definitely come here again. 

Nice, family run Italian restaurant. We were staying in a nearby town and decided to drive over for dinner. It was not crowded and we were immediately seated. The chicken piccata was tasty and the individual supreme pizza was also good although the crust was a little limp. We would eat here again if in the area. Apparently, it is BYOB.

Nick and his whole staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, definitely a great spot to enjoy a meal. I'll absolutely be coming back.

I had dinner here and it's the best ITALIAN FOOD I've had in a long time,SERVICE was great as well.

Went for early dinner and BYOB. The ambiance was nice, had a piano player playing which was a nice touch. We placed our appetizers and entrees at same time. We waited 30 minutes for our appetizers which never came out. I asked our waitress who was not so attentive to our table and she advised she would check on it. Another 10 minutes go by and we ask again. We were thinking they forgot about us. The chef came out and apologized for waiting so long, one of the entrees (Pork Chop dish) takes longer to cook which the waitress did not tell us. But at this point we still never got our appetizers. About 15 minutes later the appetizers and entrees were delivered to our table. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection. Besides the long wait and the waitress not being attentive the Restaurant food was delish. I will definitely go back but maybe try their other location.

Food and service were very good. Was skeptically because of it being inside a pizzeria and take out service, but once seated and tasting the food, we were pleasantly surprised. The size and taste of the shrimps in the Penne alla Vodka was delicious.

Overall, food was excellent. Missing some little touches like fresh cracked pepper and Parmesan. Attentive staff.

Food is alright only pizzeria restaurant in the area very busy Every time I call the put me on hold and forget to take the call ,very annoying and disrespectful. “I don’t recommend to call just ,go to the restaurant“

The quality of pizza is not good for Italian food and on top of that they are very racist.

Celebrated my sister's birthday at LA Famiglia on Irvington Ave. As usual, the food was great and Nick, co-owner/server, provided exceptional customer service. The food was sooooo good. Yum yum.

For the past few months this has been my go-to spot for a pretty solid pizza and Italian dishes. Their mussels with marinara are incredible. However, yesterday (10/25/2024) I ordered a Caprese salad which was part of the weekly special menu. It looked amazing in the menu pictures on Uber Eats and with it still technically being tomato season I figured it was worth a try. Boy, was I wrong. It was absolutely PATHETIC. It was a sorry small foil container with sprinkles of ARUGULA (not fresh basil), 4 slices of mozzarella, and 5-6 slices of a plum tomato. In the menu’s picture, the salad looked robust and had a variety of tomatoes (including heirlooms) but what I received wasn’t even a Caprese salad. I would’ve preferred if they just told me the item was sold out or reached out to me to ask if I wanted something else rather than sell me that garbage for 15$. They also put it in the bag with a hot dish so the salad was warm and the cheese was partially melted. I took one bite and tossed it. The Zuppa di Pesce I ordered with it was delicious (the only reason why this review is 2 stars), but because this restaurant doesn’t have enough integrity or respect for customers to be honest about what they’re selling, I probably won’t be a regular here any longer.

TL;DR: This restaurant has problems with the basics.

By far our favorite spot to eat in the area; whether it’s pizza by the slice or sit down lunch/dinner. Any plate of food we’ve had is delicious! Thank you Nick & team!
