Starbucks was a much more interesting place when it first went national twenty-some years ago. They had a large variety of coffees, a coffee of the day, food made by small bakers, etc. Now, it seems to be mostly flavored coffee drinks or Pike Place coffee, a bitter burnt tasting brew. No blonde roast after 10 AM unless one wishes to come in and wait for a pourover. The mass-produced food is still a cut above Duncan, Mac, and BK, but only a thin cut.
I walked into Starbucks, the smell of coffee beans overpowering my senses. The place was bustling with people, all clamoring for their caffeine fix. I felt like a fish swimming upstream, dodging elbows and handbags.I ordered a tall, non-fat, extra hot latte with a shot of caramel, and the barista looked at me like I had just insulted his mother. QUAKERBRIDGE RD, STARBUCKS is hands down the best coffee shop in Hamilton! I get my quad venti caramel macchiato from here every morning. They consistently make every drink perfect!
