Meximodo - Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar

Good was amazing, drinks were great. Definitely pricy, but I don't mind if I enjoy my meal. The service was definitely lacking. It was a busy Saturday, but at $20 for a small drink, I really shouldn't be the one asking for another. Water was constantly empty, and with spicy food, not ideal. There were two larger parties next to us, and he seemed much more attentive to them than us. Overall I'd come back, maybe during the week when it's not so busy.

5 of us enjoyed lunch. Margaritas for 2 of us. Guac tomato n corn was delish. We enjoyed our selections.

Food is excellent and a very fair price. It is beautifully presented as well. Ambiance is fun! And bright and colorful! Drinks are great! Service is slow but not because of the kitchen. We waited a long time to order everything so drinks ,aps, dinner, dessert. All an unreasonable amount of time in between just to order. Once ordered, food was quick to come out. Could they have been short staffed? Possibly. But no mention of it.

It was my first time there, but the third time for my wife. She had raved about the place each time she went. I have to agree, it was AMAZING! Our serve Michael was great, the food came out in a timely manner, and the drinks hit the spot. A must place to visit many more times.

This was my first time at Meximodo. The ambiance is great with beautiful decorations. The service was excellent but it was difficult to hear the waitress because the music was very loud. It was also difficult to have a conversation because the music was too loud. The food was delicious with a great variety. The cocktails were very good but pricey. Overall I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Slow waiter. Drinks were hit and miss. Food was excellent. Dessert was terrible, tres leches is supposed to be soft not hard. Will not be coming back.

Love this place. It's so vibrant, lively, and fun. The drinks are fantastic and the food is delicious. Service and atmosphere is excellent.

Food, ambiance, and service were great. This is my second time at this restaurant. Bring your friends and family. A place to celebrate special occasions. You won't be disappointed.

We had a fantastic first dining experience at Meximodo, and our server Sebastian was outstanding - extremely kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and helped us choose some amazing dishes. The atmosphere was incredible, with impeccable service, a spotless environment, and delicious, high-quality food!

We liked the place and service. Food - I am not so sure about, seemed not that good, and price a bit high IMO. Charge ~3% for credit card.

Great addition to Metuchen! Biggest selection of Tewuila I've ever seen! Food was great, better options than your typical Mexican restaurant. Park in the garage next door on Plum st, there is a short cut to the restaurant from the parking garage AND the restaurant will validate the parking, $5 savings woo!

The service was great but we were not too happy with the food. The traditional guac was a watery puree consistency which I'm not a fan of and the “crowd favorite” street corn was not all that great either in my opinion. The hangar steak entree was flavorful but the yucca fries were drenched in oil. The place is beautiful and the drinks were good but I will not be returning.

It was great that they validate parking & offer outdoor seating. They also give an array of salsas to try. Our dinner came before we were done with the appetizer & the tables are small so fitting everything was a puzzle. My drink stayed empty for a while before I asked for another, I wish the waitress was a little more attentive. Our dessert was missing 3 ingredients that were listed on the menu, we were told they were out, no discount off. Our check was dropped off before we were done with our dessert. Be aware that if you split the bill, the suggested tip is on the entire bill not just your half. So our waitress wound up with 40% tip. The evening we went, the restaurant did send me a text to leave feedback for the managers, I let them know all above however after a few days, there has been no reply. Cute place but not somewhere I need to rush back to as food was not the best Mexican I have had.

We've been loyal customers of this restaurant since it first opened, and for years it was one of our absolute favorites. The food was consistently excellent, and the drinks were always well-crafted. Unfortunately, over the past year, something has changed. The quality of the food has noticeably declined, and the drinks now taste watered down. It's disappointing to say this about a place we once loved, but it just doesn't feel the same anymore. I truly hope they can return to the standards that made them so special.

Second time here and it was fantastic. Drinks, service, food and just overall vibe is great.
