Price doesn’t reflect quality. Service was amazing though, all the girls up front were sweet. Hubby’s avocado bagel was ginormous and hard to eat but he said it was really good. I got a fruity pebbles bagel with fruity pebbles cream cheese. I couldn’t taste a single thing. The bagel was hard to chew like leather and most of the bagel didn’t even have the cream cheese. It wasn’t thick at all like the pictures on FB. It was barely enough to make it not dry. I had ONE bite that I could actually tell there was cream cheese. The iced blueberry coffee was really good though. Not at all worth what I paid.
I feel like the quality was there, but there were several issues that prevent me from giving the Southaven location a recommendation. 1) waited 40 minutes to get to the register only for the cashier to tell us that we can't place any grill orders only for another employee and a manager to overrule her with us standing there. 2) ordered a bagel with cream cheese and lox. specified we wanted the bagel toasted. bagel came untoasted. sent it back did them to try again. got it back still cold and untoasted. 3) employees on break sitting amongst the customers complaining about the job, various customer interactions, etc. 4) their iced coffee wasn't that great. To their credit, my pork roll sandwich was good, and I did enjoy the Oreo overload was solid. I also got the Reuben on a Russian bagel earlier this week that was very good. the potential is absolutely there, but the Southaven location as plenty of work to do.
The Bagel Nook Southaven MS– where the lines are long, but don’t worry, they’re moving faster than your kid can eat a plate of fries. Seriously, the crew here is like a well-oiled machine – no one’s standing around looking lost, everyone’s working with purpose and precision. We ordered four items: 3 sandwiches and, of course, one child who insisted on getting chicken nuggets and fries because, apparently, we’ve created a monster who doesn’t understand that a bagel place might actually serve bagels. I went for the steak and eggs on a wheat everything bagel. Hubby and our son went for the flaming hot Cheetos bagel sandwiches – "The Wrecker" and "The Promise Land." The latter definitely took the crown, probably because the combination of flaming hot Cheetos and bagel is a combo I never knew I needed. All of the bagels were surprisingly chewy, in a good way, like, "Hmm, this is different, but I kind of like it." You can definitely tell these aren’t the bagels you find in the frozen section at the grocery store. And as for the nuggets and fries? Well, my daughter gave them a thumbs up, but if you're going to a bagel joint, maybe just stick to the bagels. I’m pretty sure she was just in it for the fries, honestly. Now, onto the wallet… our trip to the Bagel Nook set us back $65.50. That's about $12 per item, plus tip. So yeah, not exactly a budget breakfast, but it’s nice to have someone else cook once in a while, right? The food is definitely a treat, but let’s just say we’re sticking to simpler bagels next time. Would I go again? Yes, for sure. Would I go every weekend? Probably not. But for a fun, once-in-a-while breakfast adventure, this place is a definite win.
Most unique bagel store I've ever been in, EVER!!!!!! It's like a candy store for adults. Wish I lived closer.

RUDE staff customer service is not what they do here they say things to you in different languages that don’t seem to be nice and wait times for your food are crazy don’t stop before work if you want to get there in time the other bagel nook in freehold is so much faster and nicer staff I have talked to all my neighbors in the Marlboro Manalapan area and they agree customer service is not priority

Note! The business owners made up for their mistake. Not only did they read this review(!), they sent a new bagel with lox, and 4 crazy looking donuts. Way to fix a problem!! Thanks.
I paid for a bagel with lox and cream cheese and got no lox! The phone doesn't work to talk to someone. That's $8 I paid for nothing! Don't go here!!

Bagels are good. The ordering system inside can be better. Instead of taking the order one by one at the register where people order and pay at same time - have separate people take the order and start the order - then pay when ready. This is much more efficient and makes better use of employees standing around waiting for orders one by one.

Ordered a pumpkin bagel w pumpkin cream cheese. The girl said 9 dollars. I almost dropped with how in shock I was. 9 dollar for a mid bagel. I walked out. Unreal. I get inflation but there is no way.
Yummmmm!

Not great and super expensive. The French toast is kinda gross. It has a weird taste and it's ultra soggy, plus there was lettuce on the bread. Asked for crispy bacon and got all floppy pieces. Order included a muffin, which they forgot to give me. None of the prices are on their take out menu from what I saw. The $12+ breakfast sandwich, while large, was over the top and difficult to eat. I was excited to try the flavored cream cheeses but their bagels are all in open air baskets or on top of the deli display and the place has flies that crawl all over the place. The area behind the counter was gross with bagel crumbs/fallen toppings and dropped bagels on the floor.
Do not recommend. Will not be back.

I ordered via Uber Eats; so not rating service or atmosphere. Having never tried Bagel Nook, based on their menu and Instagram, expectations were probably too high. I had a meeting that I volunteered to bring a light breakfast. To avoid a last minute stressor, I ordered Saturday afternoon for Sunday morning delivery. I quartered each item so everyone could try a few things.
Bagels
No crackle or crunch- which should be the baseline. In fact, they were chewy (not in a good way) and tough to cut and/or bite into. No way to toast (to add some crunch back) since most bagel flavors come from toppings and zero going on inside. The pretty swirled Oreo bagel- I literally had to look on my receipt because we couldn’t figure out what the flavor was supposed to be. Even the “Ooey gooey” French toast bagel had no typical ribbons of cinnamon running through dough there was a slight dusting of cinnamon on outside and not gooey at all. Is that supposed to come from maple syrup? Not sure. Most bagels seem to start as plain- possibly made at their central commercial kitchen? Taste proved out- the bagels I chose- were mostly (very generous) toppings. Up charges for the highly decorated ones… barely justifiable. But I get it, food costs are insane right now!
Additional pet peeve: all bagels were put in same bag; I had garlic, onions, etc on fruity pebble and Oreo bagels and fruity pebbles on my savory bagels. Ugh!
Muffin
I tried a giant red velvet, figured it’s probably the most difficult to get some real flavor out of and so much red food color! Expectations went down. But it was probably the best tasting item and I kept it for myself, lol. At $4.99, pricey but I’m okay with it since it was good!
Doughnuts
Off the bat, they look great. I think they’re starting with commercially produced vanilla yeasted and cake doughnuts and decorating them. At least it tasted like that. Yeasted doughnuts didn’t have tenderness or flavor that you get from (and love) a freshly made product. I get it, they’re a bagel store; not a doughnut shop. But don’t just make a sub par product to sell… because you can.
Overload Bagels
The overload bagels were just okay. I got the fruity pebble.its shocking you can do so much to a bagel and still lack flavor. I’m sure that kids love them. I did not for all the reasons I’ve already stated.
Specialty cream cheese
I only tried one- maple bacon. To start, container was only about 2/3 full and had what looks like Oreo cream cheese still on knife which transferred to inside side of my container- disappointing! The off putting brown color, easily overlooked if delicious. Taste was definitely “chemically” I think artificial maple flavoring; not a reduced real maple syrup, which I expected. In total, I doubt if 2 slices of chopped bacon were mixed in and I searched for it. :( At $7.should be so much better!
I wanted to love this place since I now know 2 of their new locations are much closer to me than Freehold. To be fair, I’ve been an executive chef, caterer and personal chef for decades; I’m critical because I see where they’re failing and what could be made better. Perhaps the rapid location expansion has affected quality? At some point, someone had fantastic and creative ideas that they worked really hard to perfect and create recipes- I wonder if today, they’ve been lost in translation. I wonder if they randomly check quality as much as they did originally.
I don’t think they’re looking to build a community of regulars. Unfortunately, I spent $70, so everyone could try something different; not many people went back for seconds and NO ONE asked where I got the food. Based on lack of flavor or freshness, complacency, (probably) poor training and not comparably priced- unless you have kids, I’m not sure why anyone would return to this disappointing Candyland.
As the saying goes: All hat; no cattle.
