Food and service was fine. However someone came up to us and asked us to take our photos and then tried to sell it back to us for $25 each. I'm baffled that they allow this in a restaurant!

Shrimp Al Ajillo appetizer sucked! Was more like a soup with raw garlic, terrible!
Ropa vieja was way overseasoned and meat was like string, horrible!
Pork dish was served warm, beans were to thick, no flavor!
Place no longer has its unique vibe with the great menu!
Dominic why did you sell??
Won't be back!

This place used to be great but honestly feel its gone down hill. We went for dinner and the food was really lacking flavor, they messed up our order and service sucked. The place just isn't what it used to be.

Me and my girls planned to eat somewhere else but that didn’t work out so we ended up at Cuban Pete’s! My friends are very picky so I wasn’t sure if they would like it but low and behold when we got here they were complaining about the menu, but when I say from the appetizers & our entrées coming out, we had an amazing time, the food was so so so good, and the manager Alex even sent us free -desserts. His hospitality was amazing. Our server junior was very attentive and gave us anything we needed and even Richard who made sure our table stayed clean. Everybody was so happy and we had an amazing time. We will be back! We got the chicken lollipops, the garlic shrimp, the chicken empanadas, the calamari, the oxtail, the skirt steak, and the beef stew.

I think Cuban Pete's was once good but it's subpar now. I had gone with my partner and the place just felt unkept. We moved tables from one to another wobbly one. The floors were sticky which was gross considering it was day time and not even busy dinner service so when do they clean? We contemplated leaving at that moment and we probably should have gotten up. I ended up ordered the ropa vieja with chicken and it was okay at best. It honestly felt oily which I should have stopped eating it then and there but I didn't since I bought it. I regretted that meal because I got so sick that evening that it sent me to the ER. It triggered serious violent digestive issues. I stopped eating pork years ago so I had messaged them on IG to ask about their ingredients in my dish in case they used manteca which is pork lard but no one ever responded to me after weeks passed. I ended up deleting my message and simply saying I'd never eat there again but I never got to review them so this is that. If you want to get sick, go risk a visit. There is nothing remarkable here. I've had delicious Cuban food and this never came close to that.

I visit to celebrate my sons birthday as a party of 5 .At 1 pm .The items he wanted to eat they didn’t have started with the pork chops or strip steak. He ordered a churrasco with chimichurri sauce rice with gandules and fries..we waited at least 50 min for our food. When we got serve his plate was completely wrong no fíes no rice with gandules my was wrong too.we tell the waitress she told the person who brought the food out that the rice was wrong to bring the other rice out we waited at least 10 min they never fix the rice I saw the server ask her about she told me that they didn’t have any gandules rice available.so if I didn’t ask nobody had told me anything.Ask for water never brought out Also ask for tres leche dessert for his birthday they brought out a dulce the leche instead. A complete disappointment..Service was horrible as a party of 5 the gratuity is included in.Which the know they getting tip no matter what.So they don’t care about good service.I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to ruin my son’s birthday celebration but I would not recommend this place. After all we spent like 2 hours service was slow and poor. Also to mention you got to pay for parking and if you pay with a credit card they charge you too.overall 1 out 5 experience.

First visit, I ordered a Cuban Sandwich due to time constraints. Menu is on a QR code on the table. It took almost a 1/2 hour to get my food mind you I came alone.

Atmosphere was very nice and Island vibe.

This used to be a great spot years ago. It's a cute atmosphere but it's dingy and tired. We were a group of 5, tried different dishes - not a one was enjoyable.Very disappointing.

One of my favorite places in NJ. Go with a group, order everything, share it all, and bring some wine for the sangrias.

Decent food and decent service. Large piece of salmon was cooked perfectly and served with coconut rice and a sweet potato on the side.

First time here and I’m not sure how to feel about it. Our appetizers took forever to arrive, and the empanadas were bland. The main dishes came out quicker but were also lacking seasoning and flavor. Portions were good, but the service was confusing and slow

I ordered two things both with chicken. I didn't get my order of empanadas when I asked they told me they don't have them. When my main course came it was beef not chicken. They decided for you that if they don't have something, they just replace it. They don't even ask you. Don't waste your time.
It's also very loud and they play on drums when they should be paying attention to the restaurant goers.
