Very consistent place! I have been a client for over 6 years, and they kept high quality, even during lockdown times. Sushi/sashimi are better options than heated dishes. Dinner bento boxes offer you multiple options to try a little bit of everything at a fair price. Go for it!
We used to go to Dai-Kichi when it was located in the downstairs space below where it is now. We enjoyed many meals there and brought our young kids who loved it. They also had a liquor license so we would order sake and/or beer with our meals. It was "the place" in Upper Montclair - we would run into neighbors often and always had a good time. About 2018 things started to go downhill. We were given a gift card and had misplaced it for a while and when it was located...
Amazing - I cannot fault this place, the sushi lunch box was absolutely perfect. Fresh, tasty sushi, good size portion, delicious salad with very fresh dressing *yum* and even delicious miso, which I normally pass on as I find it salty and unremarkable…errm, not at this place, it was flavorful umami yumminess. I cannot wait to try more of the menu. WOW. Highly recommend- I am delighted!
