We reserved a table of 8 for 11:30 on a Saturday morning. It was quiet and the wait staff were very welcoming. Our food came quickly and it was delicious. Great choices from the lunch special menu- all served with fries (fried potato chips)- gyro sandwiches, falafel sandwiches, chicken wrap and a shrimp wrap. The seafood appetizer was fresh and flavorful. The complimentary cookies at the end of the meal were delicious.
Came to Montclair for a Daryl Hall concert at the Wellmont. The Taverna is a short walk from the theatre. The staff welcomed us and answered all our questions about the menu. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had the large prawns, DELICIOUS! Came with a rice pilaf and fresh veggies.My wife had Chicken kabobs,cooked perfectly, friends had a fish dish they really enjoyed. Outside seating available. Free parking, and you can BYOB! The food is very good and always consistent. We went for Mother's Day and there were excellent specials and nice touches- like giving a flower at the end of the meal to the guest. Ou lr server was exceptional. With so many great restaurants in Montclair, I think Greek Taverna should not be forgotten. The prices are realistic and the quality of care the chef gives is evident.
