Had an excellent dinner at Paper Lantern of Montclair. The short ribs were excellent for an appetizer, delicious sauce. Wonton soup and dumplings were perfect and the sesame chicken and spicy Szechuan chicken were also wonderful. All of the staff were nice and the restaurant is cute inside.
I had the General Tso's chicken and my girlfriend had the shrimp lo mein I wasn't really impressed with the chicken dish. While it did have heat it really didn't have a ton of flavor. The dishes are visually stunning but the chicken fell a little short. The lo mein was actually really tasty. I did feel very odd having to order off of a tablet. There was really not a lot of human interaction other than our server handing us the tablet and telling us how to order....
Paper Lantern is an absolute gem! The food is absolutely great, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible hospitality. The manager is brilliant and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Incredible food and top-tier service—thank you for an amazing experience!
