A minor point but the restaurant had a smell to it walking in. It was a little off-putting but I know that restaurants, depending on their layout, can't really control smells. I mean have you ever been to a Subway that didn't smell like bread? The food was tasty when we got it, but the wait was a bit long for what we ordered. Plus the amount of food we got was a little disappointing especially for specialty rolls that come at a premium. Too many other amazing places in town to check out so you got to bring your A game if you want me to come back.

It took us thirty minutes to order takeout on their janky web site. Ten minutes later we got a message they’re too busy to fill our order. I guess they have more than enough business without ours. Maybe they should consider not offering takeout on Saturday nights.

Never again.Do not ever choose to eat there. It is disgustingly filthy. This place hasn’t been cleaned for ages.Portions are small.Special house roll for 19$ was tiny.

Been a regular here since their early years. Everything is always so fresh and delish at this Japanese restaurant. Sushi Hana does not cut corners yet their prices, to me, resemble that of a good value - especially in Montclair for its location and quality! They have parking in the rear by the bank when it’s closed but you have to pay on weekends. There is a municipal parking ramp across the street. When I crave sushi, Sushi Hana for the win!It’s a BYOB establishment but they always offer wine and beer glasses and usually help open your bottle for you. They also provide ice buckets for beer and offer to keep it in their fridge. I hope they open their outdoor patio in the summer time. I just ate here and am so thrilled to see the return of dining in! Their takeout is phenomenal as well. Highly recommend if you get a hankering for sushi!

I wish i could give this zero stars. This was by far the worst sushi I've ever had. And I am a person that has no issue with day old grocery store sushi. The salmon was grey. The tuna was the saddest light pink I've ever seen. The tempura was a soggy hard deep fried mess. I am not sure who is giving this place good ratings but please do yourself a favor and skip it. Ive literally never thrown a meal out in my life and I tossed virtually the entire thing in the trash.

I love this place so much. Not only because they're basically the only great sushi spot that offers a good set of low carb rolls, but because they are fresh, consistent, and all around amazing. We've had all of their types of food and you can't go wrong with anything. Besides their sushi, highly recommend: - spicy kani salad - garlic shrimp - pork and chive dumplings - fried rice Montclair itself has our share of Japanese spots, but this place doesn't get the credit it deserves.

My go to is the negimayaki, shrimp tempura rolls and sweet potato rolls. Their sweet potato rolls are out of this world. After eating at other sushi spots, you will always find yourself coming back to Sushi Hana for theirs.

I don't eat sushi, but this is still one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I can have a near perfect meal on just sides and appetizers alone. They do everything so well-- never had something I here I didn't like.
