I stopped by Sweet T’s in Montclair recently, and wow—what a warm, satisfying meal.

I had the smothered chicken (a mix of fried, baked, and covered in gravy). The gravy was flavorful and rich without being too heavy, and the chicken was tender.

I also had their biscuits and gravy, and they were just as comforting. The biscuits were buttery and soft, and the gravy had that perfect peppery kick. Oh—and their hibiscus sweet tea? That might’ve...

It was a great experience all around I had a great time our server (Aj) was very nice and patient. Food was great and plated nicely. Very nice scenery played great music throughout the way but it wasn’t to loud that you couldn’t hear yourself all around a 10/10 experience.

While in the area on business for several weeks, I became a bit homesick for southern food. I figured Sweet T’s would be the perfect place to quench my thirst for sweet tea, which is hard to come by in New Jersey. Perhaps I’m spoiled living in the south, but the food was mediocre at best.
