Based on the reviews, Hoover’s Tavern is the best dive in Jersey and a great local spot. It has been the same forever, with no fancy stuff, just a big bar and chairs plus some tall tables. The bar staff is fab, friendly, and efficient. The bartender once stopped a customer from driving, got them an Uber, and paid for it. Great bartenders serve bar pizza, pretzels, and bar pies. The craft taps have local options, and there is a fully stocked wine fridge. Late night food is available, and customers can buy a cold pie to go with heating instructions. The prices are very good. It is a great neighborhood bar with good music and great local company. Don't go there if someone has an attitude or needs special attention.
