Service is very very slow. Even with just customers at 2 tables it took a long tjme to get the lunch. Food taste is good.

Service was not too attentive. A tad indifferent.
No music playing. Background chatter too loud food little bland. Not true authentic Ethiopian. Prob modified for clientele. But giving 4 star as menu choice extensive and good lighting and some nice wall decor

I was really hoping for a better experience at Dashen Ethiopian Restaurant, but unfortunately, it fell short in many ways. While the food was decent and the restaurant was clean, that’s where the positives end.
The service was disappointing. Our waitress was curt and forgetful about food allergies. Despite making it clear that someone at our table had a gluten sensitivity, she brought out a second order with gluten injera and failed to inform us. When we asked about it, she neither replaced it nor offered to make it right.
The portions were shockingly small compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to, and the prices were much too high for what was served. On top of that, they charge a hidden plate-sharing fee for all diners at the table, which wasn’t mentioned upfront and felt like an unnecessary nickel-and-diming tactic. Gluten-free injera was an additional $7, and gratuity was automatically added for our group which is usually more than fine, but this time the service didn’t warrant it.
What made the experience even worse was the unprofessional behavior of the waitress. She sat near the front door with a colleague or friend and openly complained about our table and other matters the entire time we were there. To top it off, the restaurant was completely empty, which sadly made this lackluster service even more noticeable.
With so many other great Ethiopian restaurants out there, I can’t recommend Dashen. For the price and the poor service, it’s not worth it.

I went to this restaurant with my family with fairly decent expectations. The food was over priced for the quantity, we received the food luke warm, and we requested that the injera was gluten free for the main part of the dish due to one of my family member’s allergies. We ordered another dish with the expectation that the injera would also be gluten free for the second dish we had ordered, however it was not, almost putting one of my family members at risk for an allergic reaction and instead of fixing the issue the waiter caught an attitude, walked away, and complained to her co-worker with in view of our table and continued to stare at us for the remainder of our time there. I would not recommend this place for large groups, or people with gluten allergies.

If you have been spoiled by the Ethopian food in Africa and you are on a Bhudist/Swaminarayan diet, this please is NOT for you. They have very limitted options and they use ready made spices so it’s hard for them to modify.

I come here for raw kitfo with shiro and gomen wot. I've had most of the menu, and I like everything, but I order the same thing every time anyway. I've been a fan of this place for years, and they happen to serve my favorite dish. It's corny to say, but, they make me feel like family. ?

It’s a pretty good price point for a sit down restaurant. The food is always amazing. I’ve only eaten at the restaurant itself once or twice and ordered delivery the other times, but it always has a pleasant, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re ready to talk into the night with close friends whenever you go into the location ? highly recommend

I had the Doro Wot and it tasted great. Full of flavor and the injera was perfect. The server was very attentive.
For Management - My only issue is the $10 plate share fee. You will be required to pay $10 more if you decide to share a plate with a partner. The SAME PLATE would be $10 less if you ate alone. My advice, give people a benefit, throw in a side plate of curry for the extra money otherwise it's just fleecing your diners.
