If you are looking for a warm treat or something to cool you off in the weird weather of NJ? Then Kailani gets your back! EASY 5/5 comfort spot that provides unique flavors and taste you would have a hard time finding even in New York!! The place is not a full dine in restaurant and serves as a great lunch spot or quick casual dinner for cravings.
Kailani makes their ice cream from stratch and I can say it's absolutely phenonmenal. Their shaved ice combines a beautifully shaped and flavored ice with their ice cream tucked underneath a glorious rounded dome. It's definitely their main seller and it shows! Every bite of the shaved ice is flavored and that is hard to find in of itself.
I only had one of their ramens but I had their staple Hawaiian ramen. I would say it works really well as comfort food. It's warm, has a unique flavor profile and the spam is a nice touch!
Decor is gorgeous and the place is well-kept. You can tell they are passionate about their storefront and I love it. The owners were lovely people who will give you recommendations. In that regards, service is quite impeccable as they ask often how is everything.
Highly recommend if you need a bite or some mad good shaved ice.
Parking: Plenty of parking space as it is in a plaza strip.

They are attentive and kind employees! I felt the portion of ramen was not enough for the price of $17 + it was a bit salty for me but i would love to try their ube ice cream next time!

This review is only for takeout ramen, which was outstanding! The shoyu ramen (with just noodles and chicken) was slurped up by our picky little guy and will be the first thing we order the next time he has a cold. The K-ramen was great and the full spice level was appropriately punishing. Tan Tan noodles were mildly spicy and very tasty. Udon noodles were wonderful and thick and everything was beautiful prepared and well proportioned. I do wish the broth was slightly less salty, but I usually feel that way about ramen, so that’s probably a “me” thing. Service was super friendly, too.

July 2024 Awesome udon. Large portion. Very friendly staff. Great shaved ice. Ramens are between 11 an 15 dollars, ices between 5 and 10. The small is bigger than a softball in your cup! Didn't try the ice cream this time but there is that option for you too. The gentleman that served us (manager? owner?) was very friendly and accommodating. Spent over an hour there chatting and eating. (got our meal first , THEN ordered our shaved ice LOL) Its not fast food, nor is it a fancy restaurant. More in that "casual dining" category. Just good stuff!

The ube shaved ice was also phenomenal. Ive never tasted anything like it.

Vibrant and welcoming Hawaiian local spot, selling shaved ice, ice cream, ramen, and spam musubi.
We had their miso ramen and saimin with the Strawberry Shortcake, Purple Dream, and Bing Soo shaved ice for desert. The ramen broth was smooth and savory, just hits the right spot. Shaved ice were so refreshing, light and not too sweet. I can’t believe I haven’t found this spot sooner.
You can tell the owners and their staff care about the customer experience. While I was eating, the owner greeted 3 separate parties on a first name basis, which is rare these days. They were very accommodating and took pride in taking care of their customers.

Kailani’s is a great place for Shave Ice, Ramen, and Ice Cream. We have been going to Kailani’s since it opened and keep coming back week after week not just for the food, but the excellent service and hospitality from Miriam and her staff. My daughter and I love to order the Tonkatsu ramen, Spam Musubi and either Shave Ice or a scoop of Ice Cream. Kailani’s is clean, spacious and always has good music playing. I would definitely say that Kailani’s is our family’s “Third Place”. My daughter loves Kailani’s so much she has asked to work there when she turns 16 (she’s 6)! Highly recommend Kailani’s if you’re in the mood for shave ice or ice cream in a fun and inviting space!
I loved Kakigori growing up. So hard to find a good shave ice. I had the Ube Dream and it was Sooo good. I will be coming here regularly. The owner even gave my dog a mini shaved ice since it was hot outside.
