Bello's Pub and Grill, Newark's First Gastropub

First of all don’t be put off by the appearance of the bar, it has a bit of a sports bar vibe but, but it serves some seriously good food. The staff are friendly , helpful and efficient. I started off with Fren onion soup, a favourite of mine, and it’s was as good as any I have ever had. I followed with the pork chop, which was well worth the 15 minutes wait that the waitress had told me about, and absolutely delicious it was. The bar has an extensive selection of different drinks, I opted for an IPA, which was great. All in all a very good experience, not fine dining by a long shot , but excellent bar food is offered.

Friendly sports bar a short walk from Penn Station in the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey. Service is friendly, and the menu offers sandwiches and appetizers. I received free refills on my ice tea, which was welcome. Clean and unpretentious place.

Stopped in from out of town for lunch
Nice vibe….laid back, local feeling
Plenty of menu choices….lamb sliders and french onion soup both tasty
So nice to find fresh food….skin on hand cut french fries! ❤️

Had a few hours to kill in Newark before my flight back to Ireland and dropped on for a bite to eat and a beer. There was a nice crowd of locals at the bar and before ordering I asked the barmaid what the recommended local beer was and the lads at the bar all responded “Kane IPA” ! I could ask for no better recommendation and went on to enjoy a few pints and an hour of chat with the locals. It’s a local sports bar with a big focus on soccer with lots of scarves from various games in the UK that locals had attended. Would highly recommend and was only sorry that I was not there during a match. Great selection of beers and pub grub. Went for the burger with cheese and bacon which was excellent. Would highly recommend and will definitely drop in for a longer visit next time I am in Newark.

Wonderful experience! Bello’s Pub and Grill is like walking into a friend’s home. A friend that serves delicious food and has other amazing friends. Bello’s offers top notch, personable service. Thank you Andrew and John. Special thanks for putting the Kraken game on for us! The locals at this tavern are warm and welcoming. We really felt as if we were hanging out with friends. Food - we started with the grilled zucchini with feta and mint, delicious! I had the Gnocchi (special) and it was outstanding! There might just be a magician in their kitchen! Mr. Wonderful enjoyed the Cajun burger. Everything was served at the proper temperature and cooked to perfection.

Jamie was the absolute best!!! First time in Newark and she made it memorable!!! We love us some Jamie!!!....and the lamb burger.....I will drive the 4 hrs from dc to get it...??????
