Black Swan Espresso - Specialty Coffee and Tea

Went here and ordered a cortado. It was excessively small ( reference picture) for $4. I’ve always loved cortados and have went to multiple coffee shops where they are much bigger. This one was about the size of a listerine cap. Very disappointing and felt they should be upfront about their sizing esp given the cost. It was quiet and small coffee shop so I have the atmosphere 3 stars. Most likely won’t come back for small overpriced coffee.

Not sure what happened to this shop. The fall off is so bad and sad. Hope they can get better baristas and foster a more welcoming environment how it used to be.

amazing drinks (if they aren’t out of stock of something) and most of the workers are extremely kind don’t get me wrong, but they’re literally never open and have the most inconsistent business hours i’ve ever seen. also, i live above them and whenever they have social events the music is disturbingly loud, to the point where IVE gotten noise complaints from neighbors mistakenly thinking the music was coming from my apartment.

Black Swan Espresso is an absolute gem in Newark! I had the pleasure of enjoying their matcha and hot chocolate, both of which were absolutely delicious—rich, smooth, and perfectly crafted. The donut I paired with them was out of this world!

A huge shoutout to Gigi, the barista on the bar, who was incredibly cool and dedicated. You could see her passion for ensuring each beverage was made to perfection, and it showed in every sip.

I’m already looking forward to my next visit. This place is a must for anyone who loves great coffee, great vibes, and top-tier service!

It was a vibe. I will forever cherish this small business and the memory created with my BFF~Furbaby, Biggie Love 💕 I just needed a moment to breathe and relax so I dropped in for an amazing relaxing tea. The barista did not disappoint. He executed creating a most memorable moment that I shall cherish forever and reflect when thinking of my last day with my furbaby💕Rest in Doggie paradise Biggie🙏🏽 The atmosphere is quaint and you can sit in or outdoors. The beverage options are endless to satisfy your inner soothing cravings. It’s a great meetup spot and/or taking a moment to quiet yourself down. Try it and you will not regret it 💕🙏🏽🎀

Stopped by early Sunday morning for a cup of coffee. The young gentleman behind the counter was extremely polite, especially for being up early on a cold Sunday morning. He was very friendly and we started a conversation, turns out he's going to college for the same thing I did. I digress, I ordered two Christmas themed coffee drinks. One iced peppermint latte which was amazing. For my girlfriend a hot peppermint mocha coffee. Both enjoyed it very much. They are down in the University section of Newark and it looks like they're trying to open up a few shops and restaurants that the younger generation seem to enjoy. Definitely stop by the Black swan for your next caffeine fix!

I’m in here several times a week. My cortado haven… It’s often busy but thats a good thing! Great espresso, cool music, pastry is good. Big fan of Black Swan — a heartfelt thank you goes out to the crew!

Cozy spot with fresh pastries and excellent drinks. The barista made me a perfect oat milk cappuccino and the chocolate croissant was moist and flaky. Highly recommend. Legit spot!
