Closed when the website said it was open that’s the fairest review I can give every restaurant in Newark was closed despite the web giving hours of service saying they were open! Pathetic

Decent food but bad service, never brought me a second beer after asking if I wanted one, then added a 20% auto gratuity on a two person table and had “suggested tip” in addition. I almost missed it. Won’t be back.

overcharged my card in may by 35 dollars in may. called them to fix it and they charged me the correct amount AND the incorrect amount. i payed 185 dollars more than i should’ve. they scam here. beware. we called at least 5 times to fix it and they don’t care at all. i came to eat here cause it was in the area after my flight. never again. please don’t spend your money here.

The smell of pine sol when you walk through the door and my friend and i had an upset stomach for 2 days after. Was it the pizza slices we got to go? Idk.... Were we over tired with a broken down vehicle up that way - don't know. But don't know if I'd go there again any time soon...

They have a menu on the table with drinks on it and it says happy hour from Monday-Friday 4-6 pm. We ordered drinks specifically off of that menu. After we got the check and it was clearly not happy hour prices, the waitress then said happy hour was only at the bar. Very disappointed she didn’t tell us that off the bat. Also the food is mediocre at best.
Great spot to come to for drinks and food, the bartender B is the best.

Absolutely unacceptable experience at Ellie’s Bistro. On May 28th, I was charged twice for my order. When I pointed out the issue, they acknowledged it was their mistake and assured me I’d be refunded. But instead of refunding the full duplicate charge, they tried to send less than what I was owed — which is ridiculous considering it was completely their fault.
I followed up, and they kept saying a refund was coming, but to this day, I haven’t received a single cent back. It’s clear they have no accountability when it comes to handling customer payments, and they’ve wasted my time trying to chase down money that never should have been taken in the first place.
This wasn’t a small error — it was mishandled from start to finish, and their lack of follow-through shows how little they care once they’ve taken your money. Be careful doing business here, especially with a card. They’ll take your money and won’t make it right.
