Today i went there for lunch and when i arrived i witnessed the owner and 2 employees outside harassing and belittleing a newark cop who was directing traffic on Dayton due to a horrific accident on frelinghysen ave which had deaths. This officer had all he can do to direct traffic in a hostile situation but he had to endure verbal abuse from daytin steak house because he requested no one park across the street from restaurant so trucks can make a right turn onto dayton st. I was shocked at the treatment dayton steak house gave this poor officer. I decided dayton steak is not a friendly place for me or anyone else so left. I will never go back. Learn to respect your newark cops especially in emergency situations.

Five stars well deserved from the service to the food. I found my new go to restaurant when traveling to Newark. My server Emilio was on point. He recommended the rib eye and man was it a great recommendation. Not only was the steak cooked just the way I like it, the flavor was great. WARNING!! Come with an appetite if you’re going to order the rib eye because that rib eye is HUGE!!! It was also more than reasonably priced. I can hardly wait to come back to Newark now that I know about Dayton Steakhouse.
