I had asked for a whiting sandwich, fried soft.When I got home, ready to enjoy my fish. I was surprised to see it was soggy and broken in pieces. Very disappointing ?Also the cook was coughing during the time she was frying my fish. She did being me my fish and explained her coughing was due to her allergies ? (yuck) and not wearing a mask. My mom loves catfish, so for her last night visiting Newark, we decided to try Just Fish since it's close by. Even though they had 2 parties going on, Gary made sure we were taken care of. Everything was delicious, and everyone was helpful and pleasant.

We met the owner and he was very nice and made sure we were taking care of. All the staff we met that night made sure to ask me and my family if everything was to our liking. I got the Bake Salmon with the Candied yams & Mac. It was very good and tasty. I wish I got the Catfish that my aunt and daughter was eating. Wow! It was so soft and delicious...taste was there and not salty, which was a great thing. I have to come back!!!

For excellent soul food, try Just Fish. The catfish was wonderful, as was the Mac and cheese and cabbage. The cabbage is mixed with carrots but it's good. I ordered a fried turkey dinner and that was good also.The prices are reasonable. The inside seating is small. There's a beautiful patio for outside seating. Gary and staff work hard to please.Parking is limited to street parking, but it's worth searching for a space.

First off....the owner gave me and my date free drinks, as I was parking my car . Talk about showing love. Secondly the vibe was amazing especially during brunch with great music...a little too loud but overall amazing.
