My wife and I learned about Kinjo from NJ Monthly list of Top 40 restaurants in NJ and decided to give it a try. Conveniently located close to RT 280 and all we can say is awesome! Japanese fusion definitely piqued our interest and the small plates and hand rolls did not disappoint. Each one of the small plates was better than the next - BBQ short ribs, shrimp shumai and a “special” yellow fin tuna on crunchy rice were to die for. We then had three of the hand rolls that...
I prefer the ramen at Ramen Gami, tbh. In general, the food doesn't require you to be an adventurous eater. The vibe is more gentrified Jersey City doing cosplay than midtown Tokyo. Still, a welcome option for cocktails and appetizer.
So in love with this place! The best thing was the SERVICE! I came with a friend who has a severe seafood allergy. They switched servers to better accommodate us! I was shocked! The server was so knowledgeable on the best options for my friend and truly took care of us.
