We were flying out of Newark and wanted to grab a quick bite before travel. We lucked up and found this gem on instagram. We are already ready to return home to grab more food from Madre & Son. They put both feet in these dishes. I wish I could post the video of my 6 year old devouring the honey garlic shrimp. The entire time he just kept saying mmm, mmm with every bite😋. Great portion for the prices. Service was also great!

Today I tried to support a Black-owned business b/c I heard so many great reviews. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food because I never received my order. The three stars are solely for the two young ladies at the counter.
Once I explained that 40 minutes had passed since placing my pickup order, one of them immediately stepped in and questioned the other staff about the delay (which I never received an explanation for). They issued my refund, and apologized...

We were visiting from Maryland and wanted some soul food. We tried the fried catfish and smothered pork chops . Let me say the food was very good and the portions were huge. The mixed greens(cabbage and collards) had a little kick to them well seasoned. The potato salad was almost as good as mine that's a big compliment to the cook. The mac and cheese was cheesy and delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone that would like some good soul food. They dont take credit...
