Im sure the owner remembers me. (She remembers me as (Dre) the Amazon guy 😭) When you first walk in it might seem as if she has an attitude but she’s actually pretty nice when you talk to her and she even jokes around. I Discovered this place while doing doordash. Decided to come back again and try the Egusi and pounded yams as suggested by my best friend who is Yoruba. I got the assorted meats and everything was super spicy just like i liked it. I even had meat pie on the side. I’ll just remember to specify skipping the Pomo as I cant seem to like it, but the catfish, tilapia and goat buss 😋 I will def be coming back again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I placed my order through Uber Eats and the food was delivered promptly. I ordered the Plantain Fufu and chicken, beef, and goat egusi with spinach soup. The beef and goat was tough and everything was spicy but very bland. The order cost about $25 but I received a very small container. I do not recommend and I will not return.

I was feeling hungry and my hotel doesn’t have a restaurant so I went into the Uber eats app to find something to eat. Mama G restaurant was one of the highly rated African food. I ordered pounded yam with egusi soup. It was so delicious, I had no problem with the portion but it is one piece of meat and one chicken thigh. The spice level is hot but I already knew that’s how egusi soup is. Thanks for the wonderful meal.

I got yelled at by you for asking for a receipt. The food took over 45 minutes - an hour to get ready. No problem, I paid. My mistake was adding the zobo and asking for the receipt too, you rained hell on me and spoke harsh words in Yoruba. Food is good but please fix your bad attitude. Your customer is not your child.

I’m very disappointed, the food was way too expensive for this portion size. And the meat tasted old and not fresh too. Do your self a favor and find somewhere else to eat.

Update: Sept 23

In response to the owner, yes I ordered online but are you saying you gave me worse quality of food because I did not come into your restaurant to eat?

Food arrived well packaged, it looked good, tasted good until i went to bite into the meat and found hair, i grabbed the other piece of meat and found hair too, the other piece of (cow skin i believe) meat was coiled so the hair was inside of it. Pics included. This review is not meant to deter people from buying here but please let the chef know to cover their hair, head when preparing or cooking the meal. Threw away rest of the food. I ordered peppered meat too but havent come across hair yet. Otherwise fufu was delicious.

I went to this restaurant today and upon entering the facility, you can see traveling luggages on the right floor for some reasons??? and then I was not so pleasant with the overwhelming BAD smell right from the door, furthermore I have been received by a lady who was nothing but pleasant or patient as I was asking her questions and making changes to my order to get what I really wanted! she had all kind of attitude rolling her eyes speaking very slow to make me understand that she will not change her position or her point, i think that’s a huge problem in the African Caribbean food industry, they are more focus on getting the customer’s money instead of making sure the customer is satisfied, come back again and bring more people in order for the business to thrive and grow! I think cleaning is one issue in this facility that MUST be address ASAP!!! The STOVE top (That customers can see from where you order your food) had food debris all over it also, the cooking pots were open in the kitchen!!!
I mean, there’s so much to say! Also, they had a bunch of people eating at the back of the restaurant speaking super loud like they were in the living room or something, I guess they were family member or regulars of the restaurant, but this is so unfortunate for the image of they “restaurant” this is not professional at all!!! Customer service and cleaning ARE fundamentals in the FOOD Industry. bottom line is I end up not getting the food as it was more expensive that what are usually paid for fufu and sauce…Plus, the whole shenanigans threw me off… I just did not want to bother having this food into my body with the bad energy that came with it… this place need serious improvement maybe putting some nice candle to eliminate the smell and re-organizing the sitting area would be a great idea to start; Also, Luggage does not belong in a restaurant!!! Let’s hold ourselves to higher standards in order to grow as an community. Also, a smile does not cost much but goes a long way… I will not be going back to this place or recommending it to anybody at least not as long as it is like that. I hope those observations are constructive and not offensive, all the best.
