The first night, I had the Slow cooked short rib. It was fairly dry and tasted freezer burnt. The second night, I had the Chicken Wings... they tasted a little freezer burnt also. The third night of my three night stay, I didn't eat there again. There's just way too many other options to stay at the hotel and have food that didn't taste right.

I don't know why I'm being asked how my experience was at the Grille. I've never ate there and I probably can't afford to eat

I went for breakfast.Food was actually good, no frills. But service was really difficult. It took them almost 10min for them to give me a menu and the weight time the bill was even longer.I would not go if you are in a hurry.

The room was apparently clean. However, the bathroom sink was clogged the three days I was there which happened that I didn't get any cleaning service during my whole stay, which I let it pass just to test the service. Terrible service. It should be addresses by the management. The little restaurant/bar at the lobby was very good, though. Good food, decent prices and great service. Other than that, nothing good to say.

Pierre thank you for understanding the demands of our corporate travel clients. We are ever so grateful he was understanding and accepted a very late cancel request and waived the penalty. Please support this lovely property right across from the Newark Penn Station.

I’ve stayed in hundreds and hundreds of hotels for work. This one is by far the worst, it’s old and not maintained properly. ALL of the outlets in my room are so loose, none of my normal charging blocks will stay in the outlet to charge my work tablets, phone or laptop. The outlet in the bathroom is so old and also doesn’t work. It is also loose and the reset button has been pushed in so often that it doesn’t move. So, no working outlet in the bathroom. Make sure your charging blocks will work in your room before you settle in. This seems like a huge fire hazard. I asked to switch rooms, but the hotel is completely booked.

There is little to compare to standing in the cold and rain for an hour, late at night, after a long international flight waiting for a shuttle that never showed up. Really, it just sucks. A lot. I thought I had a decent plan. Fly into EWR. Take the free hotel shuttle to the DoubleTree by Hilton Newark Penn Station. Catch a few zzzzs. Then stroll to the station and catch a train home. Heck, the shuttle is rumored to run every 30 minutes. Nope. Took the Airtrain to the P4 station and stepped outside right at 11 pm, watching for the 11:10 shuttle. Nope. Finally called the hotel at 11:24 and was told the shuttle was 3 minutes away. Nope. Watched every other hotel shuttle pass by 2, 3, or 4 times. (I really should have booked one of the Marriott hotels.) I was reluctant to get BACK on the Airtrain to terminal 3 to take a cab but at midnight, I finally gave up on the shuttle and spent $40 on a cab to get to the hotel. With all the other choices, I’m never going to make the mistake of booking here again.

This hotel is okay. The location is really good However, when I walked to the front desk to check-in, the staff there looks like they don’t want to answer my questions, and I feel somewhat uncomfortable to stay here. The room is great, a bit old, but still okay.

Location to Newark Penn Station can't be beat - a well-lit, windowed indoor walkway connects (see photo) so that was a big positive. On-site restaurant was good (closes at 9:30pm for those arriving late). Shuttle from airport runs only once per 30 minutes and it's a decent distance (kudos that there is a shuttle given the distance, but time from exiting the airport to hotel might be long because you take the AirTrain to P4 and then wait for the shuttle and then there's the distance to arrival), the hotel is convenient to the train station but it also means there's noise from traffic and the train during early/late hours. Units are a bit dated (it's an older hotel but they do their best to take care of it given its age) and there weren't doorstops so the drywall had holes in it from the doorknob and from the towel hanger which was surprising. On check-out, we were in a hurry to catch our train and the front desk person was busy just chatting with a co-worker when we arrived and we had to wait a bit and almost missed our train.

Having reviewed numerous online feedback, I was initially uncertain about the overall quality of my stay at the DoubleTree Hotel. However, upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. The cleanliness of our room was commendable, the front desk staff proved to be extremely accommodating, and the security personnel were notably attentive and helpful. As a result, the entirety of our experience turned out to be truly exceptional. The rooms were tidy, and the beds soft and comfortable. The room's amenities were adequate. A microwave would be appreciated.

Now called The Junction. Majority of the reviews are correct about the service. The service is very slow so do not come if in a rush to catch you flight or to grab food quickly before heading out. A table of three were already in the restaurant eating their meals when we showed up so no one else was there waiting on food. The disappointing part was that my husband and I got to the restaurant somewhere around five to ten minutes before two more tables showed up. A party of six sat down next to us and got their food close to ten minutes before we got ours. Another table of two got their food before us as well after showing up ten minutes after we placed our order. Can’t help but notice those things and then notice my plate of food was cold when I was served. My husband’s breakfast burrito was good but my scrambled eggs and bacon were cold. As someone who is in the service industry, there were a few things that could have been done differently by the staff to make the customer not feel like they were forgotten. The staff was not mean but the service needs major improvement considering the reviews keep mentioning the slow service. We did read the reviews and went there knowing we may wait a while for food but it was being served after others and the cold food that prompted me to write a negative review.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed at for cleanliness and service ever. Got into my "King Family Suite" room and opened the sofa bed to find a previous resident sheets, duvet still wrapped in the bed. Room was smelly and carpet stained, staff solution to sorting the bed was for us to visit the storage room for linens and get the linens ourselves and put on bed as they had no one available. The staff were unhelpful and had a "that is not our depertment" attitude when queried on stuff.

Hilton should be embarrassed by having their name on this property. I travel over 120 days a year and stay in Hiltons whenever I can and this is the single worst hotel I have stayed in for years. Service is terrible. Hotel is filthy. Stains on the carpets in the hallways and the rooms. Even the elevator doors are so dirty they look like it’s been months since the were wiped down. They clean your room when they get around to it if at all and when they do it’s a miracle when they leave you clean towels. When you complain they do not really respond. When I just called the manager on duty, after a full days work and dinner to find out why they did not service my room at all today - it’s 9 pm by the way, his answer was I don’t know because I’m not in housekeeping. I was booked at this hotel for 4 nights next week but not any more. My advice. Find someplace else. This is terrible!

Convenient location to Newark Airport and is linked to the Newark Penn station making it convenient to get to NYC via the Path. The hotel is nothing special overall though. The breakfast options are decent and the lunch/dinner options are not too bad
